Re: GO ROYALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I disagree. Duffy is a good starter, but he throws lot of pitches and gets into the bullpen by the 5th. An extra start for Shields or Santana is the better percentage play, and it gives us Duffy from the bullpen if another starter falls apart. Plus we need to get the rotation set up so Shields isn'...

Re: GO ROYALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our margin for error has relaxed a little bit from where it was when we had 40 games to go, but only a little bit. We've got to play like the next loss will end our season, because it's possible that it will. I'm reserving the right to criticize Yost's decision to "rest" one of our starte...

Re: GO ROYALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here's a nevel idea, focus on the positives instead of the negatives. Everybody is ready to piss and moan when things don't go right, but then when things go right, everybody is on board(fair weather fans). You take the good and bad. You can talk about how bad the manager is and how you would do th...

Re: GO ROYALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is a lot more complicated then "Let's go ahead and televise a baseball game." Actually, they had the media relations guy on 810 today and he said, the problem is finding trucks and camera guys to make it to the stadium. That's it. Need to get some guys to point a camera and send the fe...

Re: GO ROYALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

^^ It's hard to make contact if you don't move the bat. It's not hard to predict a strikeout from a guy that strikes out... a lot. Remember, he was released by the Astros because he's a homerun hitter who wasn't hitting homeruns. Yost made a mistake. it is what it is. Over the course of a 162 game ...

Re: P&L District: 13th & Main Site Proposal

Kinda. I wonder how many of these winners will have the time and ability to drop what they are doing to move here and open a restaurant for just 3 months. I would wager that most of them have regular jobs. a lot of people who have time to pick up, drive for days to KC and live in the west bottoms f...

Re: GO ROYALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gonna be an interesting Sept. obviously. Starting Friday, we've got 12 straight against Detroit and Cleveland. Not an easy road. Base upon remaining schedule, looks like Cleveland has the easiest road to the Wild Card, IMO. If we can come out of our Detroit and Cleveland series' with a winning recor...

Re: GO ROYALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But really you need to bank on Hosmer becoming an All Star, Moose not sucking, and Gordon and Butler hitting like they did last year. You also need to count on the pitching not regressing. That's what they banked on this year. And that's why they traded away the rookie of the year for a starting pi...

Re: GO ROYALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Duffy has already replaced Davis so that has been taken care of. Santana hasn't been signed by anyone else at this time so don't count him out yet. And who knows Paulino could fit right in. Anyway go ahead and pick a team that doesn't have some holes to fill. This team is not that far away, and wit...

Jesus, you're like a broken record. Stay in the present. This shoulda, woulda crap don't fly. It is what it is. Can't you just be glad Duffy is in the rotation? The Royals just picked up two games on Detroit in the last two days. Royals have demonstrated excellent pitching and hitting. Can't you fo...

Re: 2013 - 2014 College Football Season

KSU fans are optimistic for another solid season. KU is hoping to win a conference game for the first time in some time. Don't hear much about Mizzou anymore.

Should be a fun ride in 2013.

Re: New Convention Hotel

Aren't several smaller hotels better than one large hotel, assuming they're proximately located near Bartle?

Just from a density standpoint, seems like 4 300-room hotels eliminating surface lots in the CBD is much better than 1 1000-room hotel.

Re: Crossroads Hotel

Looking forward to the plans coming out for this development. I am wondering if one of the hotels will front Baltimore and they other will front Main Street; with the garage entrance on 16th Street. I can't even fathom a design w/o a Main St. entrance, given the streetcar. Will be curious to see th...

Re: 50s/Main development

I think a solid ownership and management group like Nick and Jakes will finally keep a restaurant here for a long time. If this fails then I don't know if anything will be able to survive there. My thoughts exactly. I lived in that neighborhood for years and was preplexed that nothing can survive t...

Re: Proposed apartment for 13th and Walnut

That's fine, but lack of performance doesn't excuse taking revenue away from them without them having a say in the matter. Their performance is a whole different issue. But the correlation between $$ and performance is precisely the point. You're arguing, literally, that without all of this $$$, KC...

Re: Proposed apartment for 13th and Walnut

I understand your point, but while the district did not put up any risk, it is losing a lot of tax revenue here without any say in the matter. And when you're talking about a poor school district with major holes all over the city in tax revenue base due to TIF, its going to majorly affect its abil...

Re: Proposed apartment for 13th and Walnut

Any project that brings residents and/or new development to the City/Downtown is 100% A-OK with me.

New residents are the lifeblood of the City, including the school district (assuming it isn't disbanded).

In summary, school district, shut the fuck up.

A lineup without injured Mous, Cain, Tejada isn't making the playoffs. I believe Mous' injury isn't too serious. Don't know about Tejada or Cain.

I'm not expecting many Ws in Detroit with Carroll Getz Dyson and Kotaras in the lineup. I know it's the Marlins but my god.
