Re: New pix: Busch III as of March 27, 2006
Pardon me for butting in, fellas. I'm not really sure at what stage Philly's and Toronto's downtown renaissance was in, but, KC is in the middle of a big time shift. A new downtown stadium would be the crowning jewell to all the new construction and re-vitalization projects occurring. Therefore, ...

Re: Official: Arrowhead Final Four Speculation
They're starting to run out of events to promise the voters. What's next? The Olympics? Daytona 500? World Cup? Yeah runnig out of major events to hold in these venues is a horrible problem. They would have been much better off to not have any events at all. Or better yet just threaten to move i...

Re: Cities would line up to woo Chiefs, Royals
I see the stadium improvements could get us a Final Four as well. http://www.kansascity.com/mld/kansascity/sports/14209754.htm At first I thought, "Oh neat another Final Four." Then I read that county is looking to raise $425 million of a total $575. I know, the stadium is owned by the co...

Re: Graffinino Back with Royals
So much for the idea that they were going to make guys compete for their positions. Sounds like they are back in the business of not paying any attention to who is really showing effort and motivation. Guiel can hit, ply the corners and is old. Costa is developing as a hitter, can play all three ...

Re: Official: Arrowhead Final Four Speculation
I'm looking for stuff on the web, Chef. The Star somehow managed to post their All Star story in the middle of Glass' press conference, so I figured they'd have something up soon after 11. I missed the 810 news, but that's the first I'd heard of it. I wasn't doubting they would officially announ...

Re: German Water Bridge
Amazing!! A waste of money, energy and resources, in my opinion, but amazing nonetheless. I am confident that it is structurally sound though- classic German precision (as warwickland would say)!! They have been wanting to do this for 80 years. It opens a reliable shipping channel form the inner ha...

Re: Questions Fail - Downtown Baseball?
Even if a DT stadium does not spurn development it will, at the very least, make downtown an important issue to most of the residents in KC. Making regional votes for other public projects (i.e. light rail) more viable. It will help the idenity of of DT as the heart of the city become more intrenche...

Re: Taxpayers will pay for city’s blunder
Those are all cost that would have come up anyway, if the test had been done on time or not. The only real loss was project delays. Not saying it shouldn't have been done early on as stated but to say there is an additional cost is inaccurate. Samples done on time or not, the project would have incu...

Re: Official: Arrowhead Final Four Speculation
Actually, even though I am opposed to question one, i do like the roof idea, and here is why. Although we may only have 2-3 rainouts a year we have many many more rain delays. Who wants to go to a game is they are going to sit int he rain until 10pm to start the game and let it run till one in the m...

Re: Questions Fail - Downtown Baseball?
Kietsman (much to my suprise) actually made a good point last night. If all these other towns are so rip roaring ready for the Royals then why haven't the Marlins and Twins, who have been threatening to move for YEARS, and have had several ballot measures fail, moved yet? Not to mention the fact tha...
