Nice integration of parking entrance and loading dock, minimizing pedestrian impact. I wish the Truman Road windows were completely transparent (they are heavily polarized or tinted), but that sun is a bear. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DciGQyvVAAArT1r.jpg https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DciGyEYVAAEDA5l....

Tower won’t sell and won’t say what their plans are, but I know they’ve been approached. They control both sides of Main south of 70. I suspect they are land banking for downtown baseball, since Commerce is a big supporter of the Royals and Downtown Council.

Re: KCMO Downtown Streetcar

Today is the starter line's two year anniversary for operations. Officially 4 million rides to date. Biggest reflection for me is how reliable and fast the service has become, something other US streetcar projects aren't particularly known for. After that, it's the sustained ridership.

Any more casino talk? Yes. What do you think about such extension? Excellent idea... if the casino provides some direct equity or covers some operational cost for an extended period of time. I'm told the Port will take ownership of the underlying property from the city, so that should make developm...

The barely-influential Civic Council just hired a former Nashville Chamber guy: https://www.bizjournals.com/kansascity/ ... -hill.html

The Nashville Chamber was a major voice of support for their transit plan.

The only thing that will ever change and allow Cordish to build a taller and riskier building would be having a major employer move it's headquarters downtown. One that would see hundreds of employees making well above the national average income. CEO's, executives, Lawyers and the like. It's so fr...

I think I heard this is happening, along with the “queue jump”.

No talk of making the services free, that I’m aware of.

Re: KCMO Downtown Streetcar

why not jog over @ Westport and go up Nichols? Solves Westport, Hopsital and better Plaza access??? Broadway ridership pales compared to Main, and you’d have to jog back to get to UMKC. Though mainly because of passthrough or picking up crosstown bus traffic. If streetcar went along Bway, most usin...

When you're 96% leased, you get to be picky. But not while the community continues to pick up the tab for shortfalls. Also, vacant storefronts detract from walkability. Fill them with active uses. You all spend way too much time crafting the perfect environment when that's not what people like abou...
