Re: P&L District: 12th & Main Site Proposal

those are my go to spots. Some are (were?) taxi stand reserved certain evening hours though. More on the Cosentino's garage...they don't need to validate the garage ticket if you are in there less than 30 minutes. They just recently started asking how long you've been there and if you're leaving rig...

Re: P&L District: 13th & Walnut Site Proposal

True, I think of things in terms of joints vs restaurants (LC's/Bryants are joints, Jack Stack is a restaurant) but didn't follow my own terminology here. Town Topic or Winsteads would be good joints to have in the PnL (compared to BRGR restaurant) but don't seem to fit what Cordish's desires. Chipo...

Re: P&L District: 13th & Walnut Site Proposal

Everything else already said is dead on (except I think BRGR would take exception at the lack of burger joint comment - not my favorite but at least it's a local semi-chain place). This line from the Star article linked above is what gives me no hope for this place “We are brewers, we are not restau...

Re: The Health Care Debate

You want to risk it, pay the fine and go without insurance, fine. Hope you don't need an appendectomy, mine was almost $40k. Aren't preexisting conditions covered by ACA? If so, couldn't somebody just pay the fine, wait until they have something wrong, then still qualify for insurance under ACA? Th...

Re: 2014 - 2015 College Football Season

All racial innuendo aside, Missouri handled this entire incident extremely poorly. can we get back to football please? Definitely another mishandling just based on the headline (and sort of about football): Mizzou will wear all-white uniforms against BYU at Arrowhead Stadium http://www.kansascity.c...

Anybody know where the parade will be? LOL - I hope they do not try to emulate the American Royal's latest move! Grand, around Sprint then down to Union Station. https://www.visitkc.com/royalcelebration I can't make myself care about free agents or roster issues until after the CHAMPIONSHIP PARADE!...

Re: GO ROYALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If they can keep most everyone, it would also probably because of Yost. A few may leave for money or if they don't connect well with Yost. Would be surprising if a few don't leave, impressive if none do. It would be great if we improved and upgraded again, like last year to this year, but I think i...

ruins pub - 1715 main interesting self-serve craft beer by the ounce + hungarian "ruin" bar concept. haven't tried the food yet, but the self-serve beer thing is pretty cool. they give you a card and you place the card in the tap you want and pour. the screen tells you how much you've spent. once y...

Re: beer.

Tried the Torn Label tap room this evening. Small interior space, maybe 25 seats. They have a deck which will be nice once the weather breaks, as it's west facing. Good beers, about 6 choices, tried the Lumber Lung and Monk and Honey. Once Howard's opens I can see grabbing a burger and heading here...

Food trucks in NKC look like they are on the way out. Frou frou yuppy fad competing with already established businesses. Covered in the NY Times of all places.

Do they expect spectators to go to watch it? What is the point of the parade if the only people that see it are participating in it?

If you're complaining about long lines, why would you want the event to be free? Won't that just significantly exacerbate the problem? My thoughts too. There's a beer fest in the River Market coming up that is free entry, this is a deterrent for my attendance. Just screams long lines, expensive bee...

Thanks for helping solve the mystery. The helicopter in question is the one in JLowe's link. The tours must be really popular as I swear that thing is in the air all day, every day.

Red helicopter

Strange topic but does anyone know what the red helicopter that is CONSTANTLY in the air over downtown is doing? I struggle to think it is a news copter. Maybe lessons? I have a hard time not feeling paranoid some days as it follows me from home to work to fun spots.

From Uber's website:
DO I NEED TO TIP MY DRIVER?

You don’t need cash when you ride with Uber. Once you arrive at your destination, your fare is automatically charged to your credit card on file — there’s no need to tip.
