Re: Royals at TD Ameritrade

They should do this one game every year Prying home dates away from professional sports owners is near-impossible. It's probably a miracle this happened at all. Well, the Tampa Bay Rays got permission from MLB to explore splitting the season between Tampa and Montreal, and Montreal split games w/Sa...

Re: Westport

Caddyshack offers their pizza with provel "cheese". It's better than Waldo, IMO. Caddyshack is: 1. not St Louis style 2. disgusting I won't debate the first point, because "thin crust w/provel" is as much credit as I'm willing to give STL for anything. And I won't debate the second point because I ...

Re: Westport

I was more comparing the Sarpinos in Westport with what I had out south at Sarpinos (OP or Leawood). The quality was better out South. I just assume it's harder to staff a place in the middle of the city that's open 'til 4a or whatever. They definitely fill a need - just not for me.

Re: Westport

st. louis Yeah I miss IMO's. The El Fogon place that replaced it just isnt very good. Excited for Big Biscuit to open next door. that imos in westport was terrible, unless they turned it around. although, at least 1/2 of imos locations are pretty bad...the corporate QA/QC re: ingredients and prep a...

Congrats to 4th District councilman Eric Bunch! Haha, what a world.
This. Nice to see this happen. I feel like Jolley out-mailed Eric by 10-1 (based on my recycling bin).

Re: Next Mayor 2019

That was an ass kicking. Good thing for a mayor in this system to have going in to a first term. As close as it comes in the system to a mandate, I suppose. Hopefully he can do good things with it.

Presenting data isn't starting a fight facts dont care about your feelings. And most people don't give a shit about your "facts". In fact, most of your shit isn't facts. Here's a quick sample from the last few pages... "bought and paid for politicians like Justus are more focused on giving handouts...

Are they voting to change MLK back to Paseo or Paseo to MLK? Not sure it would make any difference. Just thought they had already changed the name.

Re: Ward Parkway Shopping Center in here

It seems like so many businesses fail to take advantage of the only popular something for most of the city and advertise to a wider audience. I keep putting off a grocery trip to the Trader Joes there and maybe this pizza restaurant advertising farther away would have got me to visit both. I hear y...

Re: Power and Light District Official Tenant List

For me, it's because The Bristol is one of THE Kansas City restaurants. It has history, a reputation, name recognition and decades of equity built into their brand. They can (and should) better serve their customers by.... better serving their customers. Throwing random words to the end of the rest...

Re: Power and Light District Official Tenant List

This seems...fine? I don't get the outrage of successful restaurant moving to better serve the customers they're seeing. Seems like a good sign that places are adapting to downtown now instead of behind them to just open up. For me, it's because The Bristol is one of THE Kansas City restaurants. It...

Re: Uptown Shoppes

KC used to be more pedestrian-friendly as a whole because that's how society was. I don't get why you get to define the "ideal" - as it seems to ignore a large part of the population. Development isn't going to drive new behavior. Behavior is going to drive new development. As a resident and tax pay...

Re: Uptown Shoppes

Why is pedestrian scale ideal in a city that is not a pedestrian city? Are developers really supposed to say "fuck the people with cars, I'm going to cater to the 73 people that bike to work in KC"? I get you want density like some bigger cities have, but that's not where we live. I think there can ...
