Re: Hyperloop between KC and STL

As long as someone else pays for it and only MO investment (perhaps buying right of ways) could be used for a secondary use (such as new I70), go for it. It's potential failure might be a great way to kickstart a new I70 and/or new Amtrak line separated from freight. I will bet you $10 they ask for...

vessel - walkable art, hudson yards, nyc

NYC beat us to a tornado building. 155 ft, about 15 stories. Is free to visit but have to reserve a ticket for a time period. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-K_9fvQFWl8M/XIg0gsqH9qI/AAAAAAAAACY/X11x3XEv_4EUeUs8gVMucID95p7wz5QdACK8BGAs/s512/2019-03-12.jpg https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-G1iK971...

Re: Three Light

How's the occupancy rate for high end downtown units looking today? A recent Biz Journal report said that Plaza occupancy is not all that great for upper end units. Would imagine 3L delayed until occupancy rates at a level they want to see (for higher end units beyond 1/2 Light).

Down Grand, cross to Broadway at either Pershing or maybe Linwood or Armour.

Re: OFFICIAL - Hampton Inn (16th & Main)

Those walls look ominously and mundanely sterile, not a good color complement with wood/leather tone either. Doesn't look like a comfy/cozy place to hang out. Maybe that's the intent?

Re: North Oak MAX

This would be more effective if it went to Plaza, better yet to Waldo. If UMKC streetcar is going to kill MAX down Main, a N Oak to Waldo via Broadway true express bus would be a great complement.

Hopefully leans toward more actual Cajun 'food' than Cajun 'theme' if you know what I mean.

Re: Bird Scooters Have Landed

Bird is setting up a form of franchising to allow 3rd party operators including city entities. Given RideKC is operating ebikes now would RideKC take on operating scooters?

To many if you can't see the front door from parking spot it's too far away.

Re: Martini Corner near 31st/Gilham

An Indian restaurant might do well with the recent influx along Armour and Gilham stretches. The city core doesn't have very good Indian places, most of the good ones are in JoCo.

Re: Martini Corner near 31st/Gilham

It has the potential to become another W39th but not likely to occur when two entities own most of 31st stretch (from what I understand).

Thanks all for pointing me out to some new places. I've been to most open over a year or so but haven't kept up with the recent ones. Dave, it's my younger brother coming from Brooklyn not friend but thanks for the comprehensive post - also plan to take him to Parlor, which he'll like (and I liked)....

Re: Next Mayor 2019

After crime and schools, keeping up infrastructure should be a focus. Especially after this harsh winter. Was driving through JoCo the other day on those nicely plowed streets with no potholes. Enter KCMO and there's a pothole every hundred yards or so - or having to dodge something. We need a pro-d...
