And most states allow medical usage anyway, I think about 35 now.

JoCo defense lawyer expects booming business from new Missouri marijuana law https://www.bizjournals.com/kansascity/news/2018/11/09/missouri-marijuana-law-criminal-defense-work.html Will also be interesting to see if we end up with a lot of legal small pot growers on MO side of the area. “You’re goi...

Yeah I'm not an activist shopper and will tend to do what's convenient/practical but developing a distaste for Amazon - have been on/off with Prime, not renewing again. Re: Politics

KS has a history of DEM governors that has never translated to DEM senators let alone a DEM president. KS will vote Trump in 2020. Difference being that KS is moving away from GOP identity per links a few posts back, ranking top 5 of all states in past now it's middle of pack, lower than MO. KS app...

Re: Politics

Right, not growing blue identity but 'going blue' when GOP is extreme and more moderate DEM candidates are an option. KS looks to be moving away from GOP identity, not necessarily toward DEM identity and appears to be going for moderate candidates at this point. And if there is a moderate GOP vs mod...

Missouri voted a big 65% for medical marijuana. Will recreational hit near future ballot? Seems more of those not in support for use favor not criminalizing it. Michigan first Midwest state to vote for recreational use.

^Yeah, agree they've been 'playing' all markets with the hype, but insiders claim they didn't plan two markets at the beginning.

Re: Politics

^Agree, DEMs need a pragmatic moderate/centrist that can appeal to moderates, not the hard left. It worked for KS, which ranked #1 in GOP identity just 5 years ago.

Re: Amazon searching for second HQ

Is understandable though. In tight white collar labor market makes sense to divide between two metros. It doesn't sound like they planned this the whole time and later realized it would be hard to hire that many in one market. End result being regional offices rather than second HQ. But overall, Ama...

Re: Politics

Given KS going blue Gov even in Wichita, which appears to be partly Trump regret, not just dumping Brownback era, could KS vote against Trump if DEMs go with a moderate? Too early to tell but the KS shift is pretty significant and would imagine JoCo maintaining blue as long as GOP have hard right ag...

And interesting that WyCo is approaching 1/3 Latino/Hispanic with White only dropping to 40% and Black at 23%. WyCo is also 5% Asian, which is closer to US avg than rest of metro. Is in similar position as Texas where the voter base is there to boost blue. Before the Internet hit the masses, MTV had...

Re: OFFICIAL - Fairfax Lofts/Hotel Indigo (former Brookfield Building)

I've stayed in 2 Hotel Indigos in other cities, both were pretty much only hotels I could sleep solidly the first night in. They had white noise in room and beds were very comfortable. Couldn't tell if it was specifically a white noise generator but it was a constant soothing sound even if air was o...

Re: Bird Scooters Have Landed

Given that FF attracts the bridge/tunnel crowd there will always be newbie riders who don't know the law and getting used to riding them. Would help if the app specified city fine for sidewalk riding with a popup screen when checking a scooter out. Even if not enforced it would get the message acros...

Re: New transportation technologies

You're using traditional estimating, not factoring what I mentioned but do agree KC likely does not have the density to support subway anyway - I was thinking 'eventually'. Though would be interesting to see cost of a basic auto/bus tunnel (Boring Company estimate) under SW Tfway with no midtown exi...

Re: New transportation technologies

While this might not be very realistic, an auto/bus tunnel from Ward Parkway to downtown with no midtown exits might have a case at some point. A transit subway under Main or Broadway with just one underground stop in midtown (about Westport or 39th) would also cut costs.
