Also notice bikes aren’t allowed at all. Bicyclists are just going to take their business elsewhere
I get the point, but I can’t imagine many people riding their bikes through Westport in the dark between midnight and 3am.

Re: KCI Flight Schedule Adjustments

It looks like Icelandair is driving down prices for the other carriers. Still a few $100s more expensive, but a few $100s less than last year. Hopefully, this will continue.

Re: KCI Flight Schedule Adjustments

You would think an Airline would try to start some 5th Freedom routes from Europe to US then US to South America. It would seem perfect for TAP to at least try a couple routes in and out of Brazil I’m not sure but flights from Europe to SA might be direct, at least to the eastern side of the contin...

Re: KCI Flight Schedule Adjustments

South America seems to be a forgotten destination for most Americans. I’d love to see a budget airline try to cheapen trips to Rio, Buenos Aires, Ecuador, etc. Obviously won’t be Icelandair, but with trips we’ll over $1k, there should be some profit there. Same time zones, shorter trip than Europe a...

Re: DST and Kansas City

Are there any investment funds that just invest in just local Kansas City companies? Might be a good way to encourage growth in companies with a strong local civic presence and be a tool to fight off negative outside influence like what happened with DST. I wonder if the city or local investment fir...

We can do both.
One is effective at providing affordable housing to the very poor in our community. The other just drops rent to make high end apartments accessible to the middle class. We need to get our priorities straight.

It looks like they are wanting to put bike lanes in every major street but 39th St is too narrow so they put it in 40th.

Re: We need a new airport!!!

^ I think we traded money that could have been spent in stylistic changes for union and minority hiring funds. I’m fine with that. I’d rather have a more utilitarian looking airport and feel that all citizens received a benefit from the project.

Re: OFFICIAL: East Village downtown neighborhood

Developers seem to always want to ‘fill the space’, so when they have enough tenants to fill four full blocks, they will build eight if they have it. Developments should be kept smaller so that density happens organically.

I'm a fan of reuse but if ever there was a building that replacing with six stories of something would be valid it's this one.
I’m hearing this will be what happens and will be announced soon.

Re: Phase 2 streetcar to UMKC

My suggestions.. - If 31st won't have a stop, place stop between 31st/Linwood I like this idea too. This would allow for an EW line to go on either Linwood or 31st with passengers walking half a block to the new station. Trains going EW would be separate from NS so as to not congest traffic. If tra...

Re: Interstate 70 KC to St Louis

It’s different when half your people traveling are moving by train and semis are limited. Driving in Europe is much more expensive, from very high taxes to cost of an automobile to high gas prices. Here any kid working a summer job has a car.

Re: 2018 Downtown Reports

We need a lot more rowhouse type condos if you ask me....lot of 1/2 block surface lots would be perfect spots for them. I once testified on a development at City Hall and suggested more rowhouses. The historic designation committee shot back that KC doesn't have a history of those type of buildings...

The what on the far north? If you could create a four block super Between 8th and I-70 there’s no buildings other than 720 Main on the south end. There’s no buildings on the northern edge West of Wyandotte between 6th and 7th just south of the gas station there is a historic building. I believe it ...

Re: "Flashcube" Building - 720 Main

All the more reason to tear down Flashcube. It’s got no historic context and obviously isn’t viable without big subsidies due to condition. It also might be nice to include the lots all the way to Central in a ballpark development. Would need to find a way to include the older building in the far no...
