Re: Politics

I really think all the Dem's need to do to win back the presidency is flip Iowa, Michigan and Pennsylvania and these are all very likely because a few of the house seats in these states flipped and they are all states that have been affected by the Tariffs. I think unseating Trump totally depends o...

Man, Long Island City is booming right now - The amount of development over the last 10 years in LIC has been insane
It’s a great location. One subway stop from Central Park and tons cheaper than right across the river. The new Brooklyn.

Icelandair pricibg took a 20% jump November 1st. Not sure if it’s related. Less competition = higher pricing.

Even just a cafe with an outdoor seating deck on the second level would make it better.

Re: We need a new airport!!!

Anyone who has watched any of the new terminal meetings can see that Klein is out of his element. I’m sure he’s great at everyday management of the airport. This is something totally different and the city should hire a qualified manager/city representative for the development work. B&M messed up ba...

We should wait if the tariffs are dramatically increasing costs for materials. That trade war thing has to be settled at some point either way.

Delayed openin (again),, increased cost (again), rendering of a non iconic building.....get excited KC! We chose...poorly. I have to admit, the decision is affecting my choice for mayor. It was far from jj decision alone. I still am optimistic but wow they aren't doing themselves any favors Transpo...

If this is a regional tax to provide free bus transit, I’m reluctantly for it. But, if this is KCMO paying the whole cost for a regional benefit...LIKE ALWAYS... I’m against it.

Re: We need a new airport!!!

I think the real question should be, Will the new airport attract enough new air traffic to create competition, driving down prices and offset any additional cost being passed to the ticketed public?

Re: Generic ongoing KCATA thread

Can someone explain why it would be advantageous to the city to provide free bus fare into the core from a far flung suburb? Shouldn’t we be pushing people to move into the core and the cost associated with the bus fare be an incentive to move closer in and save that recurring cost? Would ‘The Jo’ b...

Unfortunately, this doesn’t seem to be on the radar for topics in the mayoral election. Why is no one talking about bringing businesses DT? I hear about new residents and entertainment, but the core won’t continue to grow without high paying jobs.

Re: Jackson County Charter Changes

What's your logic for voting against term limits? 1. We have elections. 2. I don't think term limits are particularly effective at rooting out the evil they claim. 3. We risk the possibility of limiting extremely talented legislators from becoming even better. I don't think they're inherently evil ...

Re: Politics

That right there is a ludicrous post. We're not "letting" people in, people are getting in despite our restrictive policies. So, you’re saying 12 Million people have entered our country despite it being SO restrictive. That seems like a terrible job done by our government. It’s been nice talking wi...

Let's start a petition to get the KCPS to put this building out for proposals to adaptively reuse for affordable housing!
That would actually be a great plan for that building. Has parking, would push development east, and could be affordable as a renovation as opposed to new build.

Most of them are happening because of the current restrictive immigration policies and would be alleviated by allowing immigration to take place out in the open. What restrictive immigration policies?! We’re letting everyone in, either to receive asylum or to be processed (lost) in our immigration/...

Re: Politics

Thank you for proving my earlier point that we have to address the problem at the source. Which means working with what little government is left in some of these countries and offering incentives or assistance to organizations willing to 'right the ship'. Which makes the threat to pull aid by Trum...
