Re: KCI Flight Schedule Adjustments

Sounds like Justin Meyer knows a few members of Moxy Air’s new development team. Hopefully we can get Moxy service or become a focus city. Moxy is a start up airline by the same guy who started JetBlue, Azul and who owns TAP and a few others. I have heard that this airline will focus heavily on tech...

that line isn't just for the convention center....it's tapping into other buildings along the way and I was told it was a chiller line?
Makes sense. The Veolia plant produces both steam and chilled water for heating/cooling.

Re: "Flashcube" Building - 720 Main

They used to burn coal for the boilers. Anyone know how they do it now? Natural Gas Boilers are what have been used in all of the Central Utilities Plants that I have worked on. I can almost guarantee that is what’s being used here. I believe the electric generation portion of the plant also switch...

It was always my dream that Alaska would do a hub here with the new terminal
I can see Delta setting MCI up as a focus city with A220 regional feeder service.

Re: KCI Flight Schedule Adjustments

1. STL Reddit is rumoring that Alaska Air is looking into opening a Midwest hub at Lambert. 2. STL has tried to pursue Icelandair as a TATL add. While unlikely to announce for ‘19 it still is possible something happens this month. FI and AS are codeshare partners so I guess if AS started a huh in ST...

Re: Streetcar to the riverfront

It may not take 50 years to do infill. Some in the auto industry are predicting that fewer people will own personal vehicles. These aren't futurist philosophers. These are auto executives. Driverless cars will be cheaper to operate than taxis or Uber/Lift, because they have no driver to pay. All-el...

Re: Streetcar to the riverfront

You're not tracking with me. I'm talking about when the whole area is developed. Yes, there will be more net parking, but there will also be a 100% increase in residents over last year (there were zero before The Union opened), so there will be fewer available parking spots for non-residents. Also,...

Re: We need a new airport!!!

That’s not going to happen. You can’t expect a company that’s been yanked around for the past year and a half to then spend $10s of millions at risk.

Re: We need a new airport!!!

Just had another poor experience at KCI. What a fricking embarrassment to the city, the new airport cannot be finished too soon. When leaving KC, we went to the airport early due to bad weather (rain and snow) and unwisely went through security early to the Alaskan Airlines gate. Restrooms and abso...

Good. Glad to see some real density being proposed. Union (suburban style) developments don’t bring enough to the table to warrant a streetcar line imho.

Would have liked to have seen a new guest tower similar in height to the neighboring buildings. Nevertheless, this is still another exciting project coming about along the soon to be expanded streetcar route.

When thinking of any big company coming downtown to new office space, I think Crown Center has more appeal to suburban companies than the downtown loop. Thus, I'm surprised that there isn't a spec office building being planned there that we would have heard about by now. I thought that there were b...

Keep in mind Alejandro that they got all the houses for free -- donated to the hospital foundation. The only cost to renovate would be the labor and materials. If you put $60,000-$80,000 into the rehab, you could still slap a 10 percent profit on top, sell them, and they would still be considered a...

Re: Streetcar to the riverfront

The reason why we have soo much more parking than needed downtown is because people want to park at their office/apartment/store. People don’t want to walk, bike, transit from “remote” parking lots. Park and Rides take funds away from transit, space away from housing, and promote suburban commuting ...
