Re: KC in TV and Movies

^I don't know...are we sure this isn't just a fake click-bate news article? For example, I saw one that said a new Harry Potter movie was going to be filmed in town. It claimed that the Quiditch World Cup was going to be hosted in Kansas City and all original cast members were coming to town. It had...

Re: P&L Building

The project is all apartments. To my knowledge, I can't think of a single condo has built downtown since the Morgage Collapse. Of course that doesn't change how people perceive what's being built downtown. I know lots of people that basically think that any housing unit downtown is a condo and that ...

Re: Why Can't the West Bottoms Be Redeveloped....?

Owner wants to put a second floor loft unit in the building for herself. She also plans first floor retail space and the remaining area on the second floor will be art studio/gallery space.

The rezoning was approved and applicant will come back later once they have building plans put together.

Re: Why Can't the West Bottoms Be Redeveloped....?

I'm at the hearing. Case sheet says the owner wants to rezone the site from industrial to downtown mixed use in order for a renovation with possible residential uses.

Re: 18th and Vine

Just drove around the 18th & Vine District and I saw that the building at the southeast corner of 18th and Highland had a fence around it. Hope it's not the infamous "Fence of Death" that has done in many other historic buildings all over town. Anyone have any idea what's going on here? I haven't lo...

Through signature projects like the Village ...

Re: P&L Building

The top of that building is exquisite. Do they plan on doing anything inside that small section of the building? Cigar lounge? Pool table? This was from the project's website, "Clubroom and Lounge located on the 31st floor." The 31st first floor is the area you guys are describing, inside/outside t...

Re: Corrigan Building

It might have already changed...on page six of the marketing flyer it shows the same stacking plan except every square footage is different including the Walnut garage retail space which is 2,538 sf instead of 1,971 sf. Other changes in square footage range from a ~4,000 sf difference to a ~50 sf di...

Re: Misc Crossroads News

From a city source I won't name- A shared parking deal with The Star is imminent. It's at the point of working out details. The Assurant deal was the starting point which is a good thing. So for everyone that pushed for that first deal, it s now a framework the city is using. Proof that small effor...

A food truck/transit plaza is part of the plan for redevelopment of Washington Square Park in downtown. Hopefully whenever this plan comes to fruition it will be a really cool place and become a citywide destination.

Re: Proposed apartment for 13th and Walnut - One Light

No problem. I was down there for a kids event, but luckily my son enjoyed "urban exploring" more than anything. I wish I had time for more pictures, the hotel at 16th & Baltimore is really starting to grow. There's a website for that! Head over to 16baltimore.com where there are two live webcams fo...

Re: KC Boulevards and Parks: Revamp Idea

If you want to see a good reason to rethink the boulevards, go down Ward Parkway. Nothing like showing why item #1 from the developers is correct with how we do things... From Broadway at the Plaza all the way to the Traders Joe's, a distance of 6.4 miles there's ~9 sets of crosswalks with connecti...

Here's the link to B&A Architecture's website for this project: http://baarchitecture.com/projects/midtown-plaza/15BRO

Some of the renderings are a little different along with project details from the BizJournal but overall looks like no matter what it will be a great final product.

Re: Misc Crossroads News

Does anyone else hate the building redo at 18th and Main? It's looking terrible! I'd almost wish they'd had knocked it down instead. How can you say it's horrible? The outside isn't finished yet. Here's what the building will look like when it's completed: http://media.bizj.us/view/img/5410941/lead...
