Re: Westside happenings

Here's a copy and paste of the full article: EPC Real Estate Group LLC is planning to break ground next spring on a mixed-use redevelopment project at the southwest corner of 17th Street and Madison Avenue in downtown Kansas City's West Side neighborhood. Through signature projects like the Village ...

Re: P&L Building

The top of that building is exquisite. Do they plan on doing anything inside that small section of the building? Cigar lounge? Pool table? This was from the project's website, "Clubroom and Lounge located on the 31st floor." The 31st first floor is the area you guys are describing, inside...

Re: Corrigan Building

It might have already changed...on page six of the marketing flyer it shows the same stacking plan except every square footage is different including the Walnut garage retail space which is 2,538 sf instead of 1,971 sf. Other changes in square footage range from a ~4,000 sf difference to a ~50 sf di...

Re: Misc Crossroads News

From a city source I won't name- A shared parking deal with The Star is imminent. It's at the point of working out details. The Assurant deal was the starting point which is a good thing. So for everyone that pushed for that first deal, it s now a framework the city is using. Proof that small effor...

Re: Food trucks in Kansas City.

A food truck/transit plaza is part of the plan for redevelopment of Washington Square Park in downtown. Hopefully whenever this plan comes to fruition it will be a really cool place and become a citywide destination.

Re: Proposed apartment for 13th and Walnut - One Light

No problem. I was down there for a kids event, but luckily my son enjoyed "urban exploring" more than anything. I wish I had time for more pictures, the hotel at 16th & Baltimore is really starting to grow. There's a website for that! Head over to 16baltimore.com where there are two l...

Re: KC Boulevards and Parks: Revamp Idea

If you want to see a good reason to rethink the boulevards, go down Ward Parkway. Nothing like showing why item #1 from the developers is correct with how we do things... From Broadway at the Plaza all the way to the Traders Joe's, a distance of 6.4 miles there's ~9 sets of crosswalks with connecti...

Here's the link to B&A Architecture's website for this project: http://baarchitecture.com/projects/midtown-plaza/15BRO

Some of the renderings are a little different along with project details from the BizJournal but overall looks like no matter what it will be a great final product.

Ah you guys beat me to this! I'd just found those renderings earlier this week and had been meaning to post them. But it really looks like a great project though. At the bottom is a link to the Midtown KC Post story on it...not really any new info but this sentence really stood out to me, "'Dev...

Does anyone else hate the building redo at 18th and Main? It's looking terrible! I'd almost wish they'd had knocked it down instead. How can you say it's horrible? The outside isn't finished yet. Here's what the building will look like when it's completed: http://media.bizj.us/view/img/5410941/lead...

I always had thought that these were the St. Luke's helicopters because if I remembered right I think I'd seen them land there. But upon a Google search these might also be tour helicopters according to this Amazon Local ad: http://local.amazon.com/kansas-city/B00GR9ZEIQ/helicopter-tour-of-kansas-ci...

What was the tan brick building with the flagpole in front of it at the southeast corner of Seventh & Main/Delaware (now a parking lot)?

Re: New Convention Hotel

Had a chance to speak with a member of the architect team for this project last night... He said that these renderings, while still current and quite accurate to the final project, are actually kind of old (some as old as two or three years). He said the design is not entirely final and that tweaks ...

I'm pretty sure what you're looking at is the already existing west loading dock for Bartle Hall.

SW Bell actually did plan to enlarge the building with a twin on the McGee side and a tall gothic spire in between. It would have made it not only the largest building downtown, but also the tallest. There was also a plan in the late eighties to modify the "modernization" with vertical wi...

Spoke minutes ago with the previously mentioned architecht and he said there has been no further conversation with the developer about this project.

Looks like another dead rumor.
