 Thats about how fast things get accomplished over here in STL. Theres always gotta be 9zillion lawsuits and NIMBYS to fight everthing that seems progressive.

Re: Ballpark Village v4.7 (st. louis)

=D> So glad that one of our aldermen over here in STL has the integrity to call out Cordish and the Cards on their BS. Also fairly pleased the city passed on securing bonds for this joke. Restaurants and bars are compliments to an urban environment, they do not create one. Smoke my bag Cordish =D>

Re: National Blues Museum (St. Louis)

:D The bickering over this is amazing! STL has a very fine blues history and national blues museum is a fine addition to that city. It would be like saying that KC has not earned the right for a national college baskeball museum.......even though the Kangaroos and the Hawks have produced some fine b...

Re: City Garden Downtown STL

The ballpark village site is a total and complete eyesore, with 45,000 people going downtown for every home game and all the hotels and attractions downtown, there is no reason why StL couldn?t land a nice mixed use development there.  I mean if KC can do it, StL should have no problem.  But then a...

Re: NHL OR NBA, let the message board decide!!

Screw the AHL. KC is too large of a city and it has a state of the art facility, some professional team will eventually move into the Sprint Center. I hope KC gets a NHL over an NBA team so we could get some good Blues/KC rivalry games goin!

Re: St. Louis: Midwest China Hub Commission opens Beijing office

:) Indeed a huge project for STL. If they were to land this project it would be a HUGE boost to the local economy. With STL City owning and operating the aiport with a new 1 Billion dollar runway, and STL County designating over 100 adjacent acres of land by the airport strictly for Chinese cargo I ...

Infrastructure requests.

http://www.usmayors.org/mainstreeteconomicrecovery/documents/mser-report-200812.pdf Found this on the STL site, thought it was interesting, KC and STL are both listed. This is the link to the official infrastructue requests made by the mayors of US cities. From what I understand as soon as Obama tak...

Re: Pop or soda?

Interesting map, being from STL it has been and always be soda. Went to college in Springfield and did notice that most of the people from the KC area did start off saying pop but then switched to soda. Why the soda people didn't switch to pop is interesting to me, good sociology study could be done...

Re: St. Louis Saturday in September (pics)

2) St. Louis DOES NOT feel like a "big city" with the exception of it's downtown (which, in reality to me feels like a big ghetto). True, they have some, very vibrant neighborhoods outside of their downtown (The Loop, CWE, South Grand, Soulard, Clayton), but for the most part those neighb...

Re: Official: KCMO Light Rail

Greetings from STL, along with KC, STL also has a light rail tax increase proposal on the Nov. 4th ballot. Just a reminder to be sure to go vote in favor of the 3/8 cent tax to fund your starter line. I'm hoping that STL county approves a 1/2 cent tax to fund our next line out to westport. If we can...

5 Cities I hate

1. Chicago
2. Houston
3. Atlanta
4. Detroit- so much untapped potential
5. New Orleans

2 Cities I love

1. KCK-because they piss off KCMO
2. Kansas City MO-because they make St. Louis look so good!

Re: Belgium Brewer Prepares to Bid for Anheuser-Busch

So, what's the impact on employment/HQ in St. Louis and the current line of beers?  Afterall, these guys didn't purchase AB (assuming the deal goes through) to repackage it as a Belgian beer, they bought it to get a foothold in the US beer market.  Seems like very little will actually change for AB...

  Went to P&L last two nights while I was in town for the Cards game, awesome development! If they were able to construct some residential towers it would be even better. I very much like how they had the ballgame on the Jumbotron with the sound on, very cool experience-also wound up down...

Re: In STL. Where should I eat?

If you're looking for the best steaks and seafood Shannon's on Market is awesome, but also very expensive. For great hill food I recommend Gian-Tony's on Daggett, it is fantastic. Also Agave on Manchester supposedly has some fantastic mexican. And I have to plug my favorite neighborhood grill Biggie...

Re: Belgium Brewer Prepares to Bid for Anheuser-Busch

  I was reported in the Wall Street Journal that the A-B board of directors has rejected Inbev's 47 billion dollar offer at $65 per share. This is going to set the stage for an interesting hostile takeover attempt by Inbev. I hope this takeover can be averted and we can keep atlest one of the...
