Re: The Kill Devil Club
Sounds Great :D As perhaps the lone member of the "Rum of the Month Club" at Cellar & Loft I am really excited about your new place. Hopefully you will be able to find ways to get some rums that don't seem available to retail/package stores in Missouri. Will the Corn N Oil make the me...

Re: Status and future of the River Market area??
I dont drink coffee, but hopefully they do well. Such a great street and sounds like they did a fantastic job with the space. Wonder if the market can support two, or three good coffee shops though?

Re: Status and future of the River Market area??
I noticed a new sushi shop going in to the old Pieroguys space over lunch at the City Market yesterday, just FYI. I think it was called "Sushi by Me!" or something along those lines. It had a nice, bright aesthetic with a vaguely anime/street art octopus logo and the menu (through the win...

Application for license for restaurant business called Wine, Cheese & Chocolates at 500 Walnut. This must be part of the multi-tenant concept in the Opera House. http://www.kcmo.org/idc/groups/neighborhood/documents/neighborhoodcommunityservices/new_licenses.pdf so far i'm not impressed with wh...

The proposed street car for the short River Market to Downtown route will be on display at Union Station tomorrow from 7 to 7.

Re: Sprint Center a sign of KC's hard times.
The article made no sense in some many respects but I found that his primary point being that KC has an inferiority complex because it does not have an NBA team was contradicted by his observations in both the "personal essay" and his radio interviews that KC is a College sports town, not...

Re: Make Grand Grand
I would really love to see this happen, but hate getting my hopes up. One encouraging thing that makes it more likely is the fact that UMB and the Kempers seem to be on board...but really how could someone not be? As a Grand resident, this would be awesome. Wondering where the 30M comes from thou...

Re: Status and future of the River Market area??
Ha! You always say that. I have no idea if it is the former Skybox space, never heard of Skybox. But it is on the corner of 5th and Walnut and not BoLings, Brown&Loe, or River Market Brewery space. Thus leaving only one corner. that corner needs some serious help, fast. hopefully the summer wi...

Re: Kansas City Club
All the feedback is great thanks, so there are now pools within downtown then open to the public?
Thinking I might check out the Westin once it gets a little warmer as I am pretty sure they take local memberships. Or UMKC but pretty good drive from the RM.

So with the demise of Club Marriott I am looking for a new gym in the RM/CBD area. I really want a place with an indoor pool, but other than that is the Kansas City Club a viable option? I know membership is exclusive and by invitation only but how much so? Anyone have any experience? And yes I kn...

Re: Drunken Fish on it's way to P&L
Seems like there are actually a number of folks posting on the DF facebook genuinely excited about this. Dare I say the most anticipated restaurant since the district opened... Perhaps snagging locally relevant stuff from MPLS, Denver, StL, DFW could be a good angle for Cordish. Yes, already been a...

Re: Tips for a new River Market dweller
Yeah I wasn't concerned about train noise at 523 grand, but at the Freighhouse Flats. The unit I looked at there faced Union Station, but unfortunately no trains went by when I was there. Although it seems cool to look out your windows and see trains rumbling by. 8) So did you end up moving to t...
