Re: Help with javascript

Bahua,

Best practice is to always run javascript through jslint as either part of a build process or using their web front-end (www.jslint.com).

It is a lifesaver. It enforces writing really good js and would have caught this problem!

Re: Clay Chastain coming back with light rail

Yes: 22898 (52.4%)
No: 20808 (47.6%)

I would *estimate* (back of the envelope-type calculation) that that is around 20% of precints reporting based on the numbers earlier when 7% were.

Re: KC Live to get unique fabric cover

This fabric material is cool but not 100% unique. It is currently being used on a massive scale on the Allianz arena in Munich, Germany and is responsible for that arena's signature look. The illuminated side panels are all made from this polymer. I believe there are other arena's worldwide that alr...

engineering ALL the new buildings to allow for future vertical expansion (hey, that's not a bad idea) Out of curiosity, does anyone how much additional money it costs to make a new low-rise vertically "upgradeable"? What exactly does that require? I would imagine it would have much to do ...

Re: 1517 Oak - Kansas City Condominiums?

There is also office space on the front flor, and part of one of the condos will be used as an art gallery for art exhibitions (DOT Gallery). A tax-preparation company currently located in Mission,KS will be the initial tenant for the ground floor office space. The tax-prep company belongs to one of...

Re: KC's streetcar system in 1920

My cousin is a civil engineer who was a lead designer of StL's metrolink system (original phase) and worked on KCMO's lightrail proposal. I'll post this for discussion purposes. According to him, if he could choose what to do in KC, he would implement the following: First: A streetcar line following...

Re: Sirens too loud????

Hey Kcfireman, I live across from a firestation in Johnson County--directly across the street. During the day, when the engines leave, they usually do turn on the sirens immediately when pulling out of the station. At night, however, it is a different story. They never turn on the sirens until they ...

Re: Main Street MAX

I have ridden the MAX for this first time being back in KC this holiday season. A lot better than what I expected. My only real complaint is the route (should be straight) and a few rude bus drivers I had, but oh well. (Tosspot: your dad was not among them). Maybe Iggy should add an online petition ...

Re: Main Street MAX

I sent some suggestions to the ATA. Here is my response. The response was from Jim Prichett. Notice he says he has NEVER received a complaint about passengers needing to pull the cord. Other people should stop talking and send emails. Thanks for your comments.  Until your comments, we have received ...

Re: Main Street MAX

hey been gone for a while, now back... hello all. Does anyone know if the KCATA is planning on overhauling its website for MAX? Currently the website is pretty damn bleak and, in my opinion, intimidating for the first time rider or for people who are not consciously trying to give the bus a shot. On...

Streetscape Plan Unfolding

I voted for historic because it said in the pdf that the masts (the long poles that hold the lamps) would be "ornate". I think we should have "ornate" lighting downtown, similar to the new french-style plaza fixtures. Blads of Grass is by far my third choice, i think power and li...

I personally wouldnt mind seing some of the "old westport" ugly ass surface parking lot cannibalized a little for an adequate roundabout, if there isn't enough room. That stripmall should be razed.

Re: Main Street MAX

I've also suggested to the ATA that they work with businesses along the MAX line to mention what MAX stop is nearby in their ads. An ad for the Velvet Dog in the Pitch should have a one-liner at the bottom, "2 blocks E of 31st/Main MAX stop". Businesses that are short on parking should de...

didn't the downtown council outline a reccomendation discouraging skywalks because they detract from street-level activity? I hope to one day see all the skywalks taken down, personally. Get people out on the streets.
