Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
The work around 75th and Wornall is the long-delayed rebuild of the local street and stormwater infrastructure. https://www.kcmo.gov/Home/Components/FacilityDirectory/FacilityDirectory/115/1750?sortn=FCName&sortd=asc It actually has nothing to do with the new development on the site of the Well...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Kind of makes me think Brookside might support extending the streetcar out to them after all. And Waldo. I think both would support the Streetcar extension. It would also be cheaper to build than the current line. Map of the vote. https://www.datawrapper.de/_/gnIRR/ Thanks for sharing this link. Lo...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
I'm not sure there is time to save the chiefs. KS will not mess around and will have something signed in the middle of the night in the coming months. It's just like sporting kc. Royaks have a little more time and I don't know if Sherman woukd entertain moving to ks so quickly, but I can see ks off...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
lol. The Chiefs and Royals still have 7 years on their lease, they aren't going anywhere anytime soon and by then, something will be resolved. Not sure what the Chiefs are crying about, they weren't planning to start any renovations until after the 2026 World Cup, still two years away.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Seems to me a big chunk of the PnL district is still empty and that's on Cordish. I drive up Main Street 3 days a week to 1KCP and there are a half a dozen empty storefronts (on Main Street of all streets), some of which have never been filled. It's actually embarrassing since the streetcar runs tha...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Even on the Waldo FB page, it was mostly about "destroying" a neighborhood and an arts center. A lot of people seemed fine with the Royals at EV and believed that was a better option. I still do. I mean a stadium in and of itself will bring in development. When Coor's Field was first built...

Re: New Chiefs Stadium
And why can't the county/city step up and stay they plan to clean up the area as much as they can? Install landscaping and sidewalks and crosswalks along Blue Ridge. Mention that the city/county plan do everything they can to stop the cancerous blight from getting worse in the area. There has to be...

Re: New Chiefs Stadium
I guess I was just hoping for a more compensative renovation of Arrowhead to truly modernize it so it looks less like a 1960 stadium with a press box slapped onto the side of it. I mean keep the bowl as is, redo the middle level (the yellow seats just look odd and they are often not full). But most...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
New baseball stadium downtown has my yes vote if they can be cool with the neighborhood I was, even though my mind isn’t completely made up, but Hunt has made me question the vote and maybe come back in August with something better. Royals got my vote. Sherman should go kick little prick Clark in t...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Why not a glass exoskeleton to make the stadium look more modern with LED light displays incorporated in the glass? Something that says “wow”. Because they're spending the money on things that make the actual experience modern... Anything that would have obstructed the original shape of the bowl wa...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
I was a strong Yes on the April vote and have spent considerable time on the Waldo Neighborhood page as to why, all related to the Royals announcement. Now I’m not sure. The Chiefs (Hunt) have really deflated my expectations for a “re-envisioned Arrowhead”. Clark Hunt has come off like a cheap ass a...

Re: Three Light
Awesome pics Grid. The original rendering of the Hyatt/Lowes Hotel was about 45 floors I believe, that would have been significant. But alas, we get a 23 story hotel. If 4L is 40 floors or more, it will add some height and partially block 1KCP I believe. Not as worried about height, I'd rather have ...

Re: Three Light
Are those garages open to the public if there is an event downtown? I always park at 1KCP since that is where my office is. Just curious.
Edit: and awesome pics last gentleman.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Royals also drew a lot of fans from Western KS/Eastern CO before the Rockies came to Denver. A lot of those folks are now Rockies fans.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
I’d say until the Royals are no longer on this list, the attempt to win over the public on a new stadium discourse is DOR. https://i.imgur.com/XIryVC6.jpg People have to be educated on why the Royals payroll is on the low end. Second smallest market in MLB. An aging stadium that I have heard genera...

Re: 500 foot mixed use tower considered for downtown
We literally heard from someone on here less than a month ago that we wouldn't see a building that tall in "15-20 years" lol...works like a charm. Not the first time that's happened. Pretty sure this is directed at me lol. You can't deny the fact that KC has not built a taller building si...

Re: 500 foot mixed use tower considered for downtown
I'll take more towers but downtown needs infill tbh Yep. North loop parking lots and Crossroads are prime for infill projects. Need a dozen more 10-15 story buildings, whether commercial, apartments or hotels. I just don’t see the demand for high rise commercial in KC or most cities, post COVID. My...

We literally heard from someone on here less than a month ago that we wouldn't see a building that tall in "15-20 years" lol...works like a charm. Not the first time that's happened. It’s a proposal. Remember, the Hyatt (now Loews) was supposed to be 40+ floors, final project is 23 floors...

Re: NBA to Kansas City
KC's best chance is to get an NBA team is relocation, i.e. NO Pelicans. We most likely won't get an expansion team w/o an ownership group with deep pockets and the NBA actually picking KC over Seattle (not going to happen) or LV. I don't get the desire about LV. It's a very transient city.
