Re: Three Light

Couple surveyors were in this parking lot this morning and it was blocked off from parking. Maybe getting ready to start construction?

Re: Wichita's Downtown development

I grew up in Wichita and go back every few years just to see friends that live in College Hill (similar to Brookside but smaller)...parents moved up to KC about 10 years ago so don't go back that often. It's a nice city that is easy to get around. The Old Town area is definitely the coolest...I wish...

Re: Misc Crossroads News

Bob Jones Shoes is closing. https://www.kmbc.com/article/downtown-kansas-city-icon-bob-jones-shoes-closing/22779380 Sorta surprised, but not really. Last time I was in there, maybe a year ago, place was pretty dated. Found a couple pair of dress shoes I liked, but none in my size. Bummer though.

Re: We need a new airport!!!

I still think the fountain should be re-thought...I mean, we are not talking about a fountain the size of JC Nichols, JFC. A cool interior fountain with LED projections would have been a hit for people new to the city taking pictures and whatnot. I mean, Kansas City is known as the city of fountain...

Re: "Flashcube" Building - 720 Main

Really? I always thought that area would be perfect for a ballpark...lots of under-utilized parking lots, right on the streetcar line, highway access. I would still like to see a deck or something to connect to the River market though. Deck the highway, turn it into a park where people can hang out ...

Can we just tear that building down and put the new ballpark there instead? Problem solved.

Re: We need a new airport!!!

Seriously, these are the best "conceptual" renderings Edgemoor can put out after 10+ months? That is what concerns me. Doesn't seem like a priority to them. I still think it was a mistake to choose them, never liked the choice. It's going to be a bland airport that is good at one thing; shuffling pe...

Price goes up, quality goes down....what a cluster fvck. Give the damn project to AECOM/B&M before it's too late.

Re: Drury Plaza Hotel

Why not just build on one of the many existing surface lots instead? Don't see a need to tear down a mid century building, that could be re-habbed, when there are plenty of parking lots in that area.

Nice renderings...glad it's going to be taller than Two Light and the roof will be sloped. Is ground breaking still early 2019?

Re: Two Light - 14th & Grand

Yep, north of the Sprint Center on Grand is horrible. Hopefully with the Traders remodel, the Federal Reserve Embassy Suites and some other development along Grand will spur some new landscaping. And wasn't Grand supposed to be completely re-done with a road diet and new landscaping anyway, like 5 y...

Re: Two Light - 14th & Grand

Pretty much any street downtown outside PnL needs extensive landscaping. Broadway is probably the most desolate street downtown. The City has really neglected this for too long, but again, it's the KC way.

Why not just build the 3rd and smallest building of the PAC like it was originally planned?

Re: We need a new airport!!!

Most people don't associate good things with airports anyway....traffic, delayed flights, overpriced food, congestion, etc. Why would you want to associate that with Martin Luther King? I would prefer Prospect or Paseo to be renamed and maybe a nice fountain added.

Re: Six Light

Are all Light towers going to be designed by the same architect Humpheys & Partners? An easy way to change them up is hire a different architect perhaps? Why not use local firms to design? H&P was used for One Light. Hord, Coplan and Macht for Two Light. Using local firms isn’t out of the question ...
