Re: Downtown Alley Ways

I think great opportunities exsist to possibly build vertical decks extending from various restaurants/bars. They could go out into the alleys just a tad and provide some pretty decent overhangs and views of DTKCMO.

Re: Strawberry Hill Renaissance

I have been to the museum a few times with old school Kolich family affiliated folks. Rumor has it, that the top rooms may be [glow=red,2,300]haunted?[/glow] Anyways, a neat place to see.

16 months seems a little long on consultant studying. I think the idea is long overdue, and when finished, should put Metcalf back on the map.

Re: ONGOING: Sprint Center bookings

If KU plays well this year and perhaps gets a 1 or 2 seed in the midwest, folks from Larrytown might be in for a short 40 min ride to see KU play a pair of regional games at the SC.

Re: your favorite "under the radar" places

In addition to my two cents on my last post, here is is story from Dave's Stagecoach.   I was happily buzzed on a summer night sometime during 1998. My old girlfriend was working behind the bar, so we all know everything was cool with that hookup. It was right around dusk when a loud dragging noise ...

Re: your favorite "under the radar" places

Bobby Baker's has to be one of the best "under the radar holes" around. Another is Dave's Stagecoach over in Westport.....similar to an extent, but Dave's might be a little more shitty. I love them both and look forward to visiting whenever I can...and to hide from reality for a few hours....

Can't argue with that...Oak Park Mall has been around a long time and continues to prosper...hmmm.

I realize the government wasn't around back then.....I didn't want to go into the black subject, but it sure does seem like that had a damn big impact on the downward spiral of the mall.

Re: Indian Springs, bulldoze and start over or reuse?

When I was a little kid, Indian Springs was the place to go! Times have changed and the failure of the "unified government", along with the surrounding neighborhood doomed the success of the 1970's/1980/s glory run. We all have our opinions on how everything fell apart, but the reality of ...

Re: Questions Re: Brush Creek Development

Hmmm...Back around 1998 or so I worked for a concrete cutting company. I was sent down into Brush Creek to drill dozens of 8" diameter holes. From what I can remember, the holes expanded some type of sewer/manhole runoff deal. This was when the creek was just getting "nice" east of th...

Re: WyCo considers new TIF districts

I think the land north/northeast of the lake should remain as is. Building so close to the north end of the lake will ruin the view of the river and lowland fields. WYCO can't think of a better place to build that shit?

I would hang over in brookside/waldo...close to the best few pubs/bars around town. In 9 years I might just do it.  :D

Re: The West Bottoms in the evening

Can the government of KCMO somehow request the bottoms to be something like a national history area and protect it from further damage?? Is something like that even possible?
