According to one of the long-time organizers, Gil Brenis, though there has been a strong desire to make it work, it has been too difficult to gather funds for this event and others like it. I'm terribly...

Re: Kansas City Air Quality...

Kansas City, filling in the ozone hole on day at a time.  Because I'm a stickler about this subject, just to clarify: This is a different kind of ozone. Stratospheric ozone = good; protects us from sun's harmful UV rays, damaged by the use of CFCs Ground-level ozone = bad; causes breathing ...

Re: Recycling for Multi-Unit Dwellings

Anyone know the story with that particular dumpster; Beccanator perhaps?  Also, is there really no glass drop off anywhere in the greater downtown area? This dumpster is used by the offices in the Rivergate Building, though I can't see any real harm in people occasionally using it to recycle the co...

As far as I know, Trigen is still an operational plant. It generates the steam used to heat/power downtown office buildings.

Re: Kansas City Air Quality...

The article wasn't very clear - just what exactly are the ramifications of a one day violation? When speaking of a violation for a monitor it's refering to an exceedence of the fourth-highest value for a monitor over the course of three years on that day. It's a bit complicated to explain, but it's...
