Re: Closing Grand all the time is stupid.

Is Grand even considered a main thoroughfare anymore?
I thought with the road diet thing going on, the city was hoping to make it more pedestrian and bike friendly thus pushing autos to Broadway or Main.

Re: Two Light - 14th & Grand

So is this video board the quality of the one in KC Live?

In the event the park deck gets built over 670, I could see that as another place to hold watch parties, etc.

Re: OFFICIAL - Loews Convention Hotel (formerly Hyatt)

Interesting video of the construction site got posted to Reddit. I watched it over and over until it gave me motion sickness.

Re: 13th and Grand tower

1300 spaces better be underground. Otherwise this is what we can look forward to. https://harborparkgarage.com/events-promos/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/harbor-park-new-1.jpg That isn't awful since there's ground level retail. The ugly existing turd across Grand is far worse. I don't like it, but it...

They are working right now on Saturday too. Not like the weekdays, but there's definitely some equipment working.

These are the kind of stores that the plaza needs so this is disheartening.

Imagine how much development we would have if these 5 companies had a downtown presence. Cerner Sprint Garmin Black & Veatch Burns & McDonnell That's 5 of the top 20 largest private-sector employers in the KC area. The remaining? Commerce Bank (downtown presence) BNSF Railway Olathe Health S...

Re: OFFICIAL - Loews Convention Hotel (formerly Hyatt)

The crane is clearly visible from Crown Center where I am. depends on the exact floor and angle to the Western Auto building So the convention hotel is going to be visible across a large amount of downtown. I think they will raise the crane at some point when the building starts rising. It doesn't ...

Re: Church of the Resurrection Downtown Campus

Fang, looking at that land, the church must have gotten that land cheap. I would think that land value for a ready to build large site would be too high for a small church, but maybe they slipped in and grabbed it while it was cheap. It could be worse, the Star could have land-banked the parking lo...

It's going up today. So is the one for the Loews hotel. Kinda weird seeing two tower cranes going up in a single day in KC, but I like it.

Haddad Restaurant Group took it over some time ago and did absolutely nothing but cut costs and ride the coattails of it's former glory. History and name recognition kept them open this long, but without updating this is what happens. Seems like anything Haddad takes over fails at some point. Winste...

I guess it would be a shitty way to go. Ran over by a truck and the last thing you saw was unpainted plywood.

So does the city make them paint the barrier wall? There's two guys painting it currently and found that kind of funny albeit it looks nicer.
