Re: Powell Gardens 2019

It did work, KCCat! What beautiful pictures! There were so many butterflies. Almost like a Disney movie. Thank you for giving me another shot at your lovely photos.

Re: TheLastGentleman Goes Downtown

I like #22 (people bridge with lights on side). The great perspective draws you in. But all of them are worth viewing. Thanks much!

Re: Powell Gardens 2019

Hi, KCCat. The photo you posted above shows that Kauffman Garden is indeed a beautiful place. I clicked on the link you provided, but the site required me to sign in. I don't have an account with them, so I couldn't see your other pictures. Not that it matters, but Flickr allows you to keep up to a ...

Re: Powell Gardens 2019

Thank you, KCCat. I didn't know about the festival of butterflies or Kauffman Garden. I should see more around our city. Maybe you could snap a few pictures and post them here. I would love to see them.

Re: Powell Gardens 2019

We'll have to go back, as we didn't see all of it. Ran out of time. It didn't seem all that far away, but I suppose it would be nice to have a beautiful garden right smack in Kansas City. On to the next set of pictures. More work to be done. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48418064476_c6d5f5841b...

Re: Powell Gardens 2019

I plopped the picture into the natural frame it contains. Ignore the blue hose. Too lazy to clone it out. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48376345842_7ff709ac0a_c.jpg Okay. This started out as a portrait-oriented image. The marigolds were below the cabbage in the dirt. I simply moved them and cr...

These colors are great. The flowers seem to be made of wax, but they are real. And perfect. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48330326596_a1017cdeb8_c.jpg The old gray bench, she ain’t what she used to be. Notice the one purple “lollipop” unfurling. It got a late start. https://live.staticflickr.c...

Re: Powell Gardens 2019

Yes, it does seem to be a big place. We didn't see more than half of it. I didn't really know much about the funding, either. I looked online briefly and found this statement at <http://gkccf.guidestar.org/nonprofit.aspx?orgId=1322>: "The Gardens, like many non-profits, always needs funding. We have...

We are in a botanical garden. There will be flowers. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48227076642_60c629e75c_c.jpg They are so pretty. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48227015836_87894c0b30_c.jpg And they are so perfect. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48227076012_c416ae83c3_c.jpg It’s li...

Powell Gardens 2019

I assume Powell Gardens is close enough to Kansas City for these pictures to be appropriate here. My son and I visited this place on 5/31/19. It claims to be Kansas City's botanical garden. It is a 970-acre botanical garden in Kingsville, Missouri, 30 miles east of Kansas City. It features 6,000 var...

Re: TheLastGentleman Goes Downtown

What a clean and beautiful city! What great pictures! You do us proud. That Peck's sign reminded me of the time my mother took me to that department store to buy me a winter coat. I was 16 and she was 57. The cashier asked her if she was my grandmother. My mother yelled back at her, "No! I am her gr...

Re: Minnesota 2015 Part 8

Now, that's an interesting thought. One problem for me is that I'm not a real photographer. Yes, I do take a lot of pictures--or used to, but I don't really know much about cameras or associated equipment. I pretty much just point and shoot. My Nikon camera is smarter than I am. I'm fairly handy wit...

Minnesota 2015 Part 8

This is the moment you’ve all been waiting for: The last set of pictures for this trip! I went back to dig up three of them because I wanted twelve pictures, as usual, instead of just nine. Here goes nothin’: It would be nice if there were a few sheep, but there weren’t any there. https://live.stati...

Another Hubbard Rhino Barn sign. Not exactly a flower garden.
