Re: Phase 2 streetcar to UMKC
I think I could get behind a stop half-way between Linwood and 31st. On my bus ride this morning I made sure to pay attention to where the stops are and it is pretty crazy that Union Hill is so far away from a stop. Honestly, the 27th Street stop could probably be moved up to the top of the hill an...

Re: Phase 2 streetcar to UMKC
One problem I I fell into is thinking too much in 2D. How do the stop placements work in terms shapes centered on top of them? (I used diamonds for comparison simplicity, easy to show E-W the same as N-S) Small diamonds https://drive.google.com/open?id=1I9I5LKj9zPl5LgMVz-L0qhaUvdUOWYN7&usp=shar...

Re: Phase 2 streetcar to UMKC
I'm quite sure nobody is making a decision to exclude a "prominent urban neighborhood"....come on. Okay may have been embellishing there, but Union Hill has accepted density like few midtown neighborhoods have and we've encouraged that type of future development by leaving them on an isla...

Re: Phase 2 streetcar to UMKC
I understand the desire for distances, but you can’t measure from the middle of one street to the next. If 27th St stop is on the south side of the block and the Linwood one is on the north side (most likely for both) it would probably be .5 miles, similar to the others. Except for we use the same ...

Re: Phase 2 streetcar to UMKC
Let's ignore street location and focus on minimizing the walking distance for the most people Pershing is 24th 3 blocks to 27th 5.5 blocks to Linwood is 32.5th 2.5 blocks to Armour is 35th. 4 blocks to 39th 4 blocks to 43rd 2 blocks to 45th 2 blocks to 47th 4 blocks to 51st so the largest gap is 27...

It is still being marketed on Epoch's site: http://www.epochdevelopments.com/copy-of-project-4 I know the owner across the street and next door, they say it is dead due to inadequate parking. what, no variance request? jesus, we are sooooo provincial. I heard they twice asked the city for a varianc...

FangKC,
Having recently purchased a house in the union hill neighborhood, should I be contacting city council members or are there economic development comittees etc that I should also contact?

Re: Status and future of the River Market area??
I still wish they were going for higher density on that site (more units)--twice the height. I don't disagree, I'd always love to see more density, but I like the rendering and as I've heard people say on the forum we still need to get the rents higher to be able to make higher density projects fea...
