Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
She's back at it. Misinformation and smear campaign in full force. In my opinion, you should sue her. Well I personally wouldn't sue her but I do think some people should, including Matt Abbott. However, you just give her a bigger platform at that point. She's been emboldened by the same 25 people ...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Since most of us will be waiting for a while for some actual news, I'm going to throw out a wild stadium site. I think you could squeeze a stadium in north of 43rd and Broadway Blvd. Westport would be the entertainment district. It's a couple blocks to the streetcar. Far enough from Plaza NIMBYs (y...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Their home opener attendance this year was 38,775. Pretty close to sell out. I know it was a near sell out this years, but the Royals went 2-3 years prior to covid that were far from sell outs. A remarkable thing in MLB no matter how bad your team has been doing. Let alone at team that went to the ...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
I can’t believe people are so stupid they assume the Royals are just “good to go” now. They just denied a pro-team with a lease expiring in 6 years. They think they’re safe now? People are so stupid. Sorry, I just can’t take it. Royals average attendance below Tampa Bay right now. Tampa Bay. The ci...

Re: New Chiefs Stadium
Just a reminder that Kansas only earned $7 million from sports betting for it's first full year. Sports betting tax revenue will not pay for a stadium alone in either state so we don't have to worry about Kansas being able to use that to build the Chiefs a $2 billion dome capable of hosting superbo...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Perhaps KC voters will vote to fund the Royals downtown if they don't also have to pay for the Chiefs. Perhaps.. Yeah I think you've got that backwards How? You think KC voters will sit there really let the Royals go after they just lost the Chiefs? No way The Save the Vacant Star building and bloc...

https://www.kansascity.com/news/politics-government/article287357330.html Former Kansas House Speaker Ron Ryckman Jr., an Olathe Republican, is quietly working with unnamed parties interested in bringing the Kansas City Chiefs across the border, The Star has learned. “Jackson County fumbled. Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
I think you’re overstating some of these opinions from much of the World Cup “Community”.
Also, the “people I talk to outside of KC”. I think you have an opinion then try to cobble phantom support to back it.

Re: Is KC Tenants destroying the development future of downtown KCMO?
Saw No on stadium ad on TV sponsored by KC Tenants. I do not understand what advocating for No (or Yes) on the issue does for the interests of lower income renters. How is KC Tenants funded that they can afford to buy television ad space? Many 503(c)(3)s no longer have to report who they receive th...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Honestly, what’s so historic about that old fire station? It’s not like it was the very first fire station in KC or anything. Is it simply because it’s old?

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
The 3 block radius thing is ridiculous. Hopefully the lost revenue clauses are from tax statements not just whatever these business claim.
I still think the businesses should get the same deal that those affected by the streetcar did.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
During a conversation with Populous, I was told that while the current plan includes closing Oak, they are looking at several different options. I get the feeling they don't see it working without closing Oak though. Interesting news to me however, they claim Oak will remain open to pedestrians, in...
