The 3 block radius thing is ridiculous. Hopefully the lost revenue clauses are from tax statements not just whatever these business claim.
I still think the businesses should get the same deal that those affected by the streetcar did.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
During a conversation with Populous, I was told that while the current plan includes closing Oak, they are looking at several different options. I get the feeling they don't see it working without closing Oak though. Interesting news to me however, they claim Oak will remain open to pedestrians, in...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Approximately how many JaCo voters make up this CCA HOA thing?
Related: did the streetcar have to pay stipends, etc to all of the (streetcar taxpaying) business they’ve disrupted. What did those guys get out of the streetcar deal?

Again, this has turned into a bizzaro world thread.
Parking? Traffic? Sounds like a Prairie Village planning commission meeting.

I cannot believe, in my years of reading this board that a No vote is even being considered. Unreal. Go touch some grass.

Re: Sporting Kansas City
They had nowhere else to go. It was lose the team or build there. They are trying with the cheaper U-Pass system but the fact there are fewer young people driving is really going to ultimately kill that location. Fewer young people driving? Absurd. The base comes in off 435. It’s not the overweight...

Re: Sporting Kansas City
If sporting starts playing poorly, I think there is a good chance their attendance drops like a rock and they will quickly go to the bottom tier of attendance. I think this is where location will hurt them, just like the Royals. Weekday attendance, drawing from a younger more urban demographic etc ...

Well, rooting for the no vote now. I will actually go out of my way now to help campaign against because of Cordish & their fans, I won't support an ideal from people who use right wing language & hate that are allowed to talk like that on here due to "insider info." Been fun, I'l...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Portland seems to be really cramming a stadium into a small footprint here. They are getting more serious about luring a MLB team lately. It makes me wonder if the Royals are thinking of something like this for the ECR location. https://katu.com/resources/media/9ce0bfb1-0ced-4523-80f2-85b72c93f5c6-...

Re: World Cup 2026 at Arrowhead?
There aren’t many adults in the room anymore. I don’t need a “statement from the Cauldron” every time someone farts from halfway across the world. I don’t see a lot of independent groups either, except for the antifa losers. There’s so much “look at me” garbage from people who I bet don’t even know ...

https://www.sportingkc.com/news/statement-from-principal-owner-michael-illig At least it's done. Try to salvage what there. As much as we butted heads on this and I can't stand the social justice element of this particular fanbase, I have to admit that firing him was probably the right move. I’ve b...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
instead of the location, I'd like to discuss the design. So populous is working on it I guess? 95% of their stadiums are boring, generic modern spaceships. They designed Miami and Atlanta's baseball stadiums which are both trash, but they also did Minneapolis and and New Yankee which are both great...

First off this is a small part of the entire crossroads, but mostly, that area is just not well developed at all. I mean I don't get the love for the area. I hate tearing things down, but geez. That area is not really urban, it's half parking lots and very few of the buildings are worth getting wor...

Another thought, would this be a boon to the streetcar TDD? I’m unsure exactly how that works.
