Re: Panhandling Out of Control?

I've definitely noticed it getting worse in the last week or so.  Probably the warm weather, but they've never been this aggressive.  I'm in Oppenstein park several times a day walking my dogs and get catcalls and swarmed almost every time I go out.  I'm used to the bums hanging out, but I'm not us...

Re: National Catholic Youth Conference (Purple Ribbons)

shit is nutts.
cars being towed for parking along 18th street (sadly for my friend this is the second time his car has been towed down there), tour buses galore, kids wearing weird pope hats, earlier today I saw a bunch wearing hats that looked like wolves heads.
Interesting.

Re: Trains blowing their horns at 2:30 AM

I'm sure what you are hearing is a train going over a grade crossing.  Any time a train goes through a crossing it must whistle and ring its bell.  There is a certain sequence the train crew must whistle. Two long blasts, a short, and another long as the front of the engine actually starts across th...

Re: Thoughts on DE Lofts?

Wow, that's a crazy site. KCRag would prefer not providing personal addresses of people like that.  Thanks. Anyways, my gripe is with their maintenance / improvements.  As a part of my purchase contract there was an improvement included.  Now, 8 months later, it still isn't done and doesn't look li...

Oh thanks a lot Staub!!!

The site is hilarious but I get the heeby-geebies when bugs are involved.

Now I'm gonna have to sleep in a bug net.

Business Insurance

Anyone have the hook on cheap business insurance for a sole proprietor?
I'm looking for just a general liability "blanket" insurance.

Re: Thoughts on DE Lofts?

I always like seeing your bike chained up outside. What did they say to you? Did they attempt to remove it? They have absolutely no right to say anything about your bike. That pisses me off just a tad. You seen my new Cannondale track bike?  Ya son! So heres the story.  For maybe two weeks at least...

Re: Thoughts on DE Lofts?

I've lived in 509 for 2 years.  Was here before DE took over. Have seen residents who've lived here for 25+ years move out cause they were unhappy with the direction things were going.  I've also seen new tenants move in and in a month or two have to move out cause DE sold their place to be converte...

Re: Crossroads Graffiti

This subject is sorely played out. Graffiti is visual disruption.  You frown upon it, because to you, it serves no purpose and infringes upon space.  Yet, there is barely a difference between graffiti and lets say billboards or the stupid lighted tupperware "sculpture" I have to look at ev...

Thanks for the correction.  I always called 120 medium format.  I just rock a Holga. Guess I'll look up Cricks to see where they're at.

Medium Format(120) Film Processing

so I used to go to custom color to get my medium format film processed and printed, but the last time I swung by there it had changed and they no longer do it, or for the public at least.  The dude at IPAS said he'd do it on the weekends, but anybody know of anywhere else I can do it without shippin...

Re: The inevitable bike-not-so-friendly incident

on the other hand the cyclists i have come across on the road don't behave very well themselves. just a week or so ago there was some critical mass event going on just as i was getting off work. there was a huge throng of them riding north on grand and every time they would pass a cross street they...

Did you know the Brick delivers food by bike?

Well they do.  Food bumped between the hours of 11am to 1pm by yours truely and 6pm to 10pm by a couple of my friends monday through friday.  We roll the river market to 26th and holmes to broadway.  Its not the standard menu as we're delivering this stuff on a bicycle so hit me up and I can send of...

Re: Kansas City ranks last for bike commuting

Kansas City is so far behind on alot of things so being ranked last for bike commuting is no surprise.  My friend was invited to a planning commitiee meeting about bike lanes and asked if I would come along cause they wanted people with "urban riding experience."  Needless to say the meeti...
