Re: OFFICIAL - 21c Museum Hotel KC (former Savoy Hotel)

We moved our stay up a few weeks, now that they're opening earlier than planned. Can't wait to see the galleries.

Re: Bird Scooters Have Landed

We had several that showed on the map but had problems today. I ran into one yesterday that had a similar issue: showed on the map, but can't check out it. Today we rode to La Bodega for lunch, then rode up Summit (slowly!), across 14th to Washington/Wyandotte, over the Town of Kansas bridge, down t...

Re: Bird Scooters Have Landed

If you take a scooter on the streetcar do they still charge by the mile? Is it GPS based or does each scooter have an internal odometer? It's time based, by the minute (after the initial $1 checkout fee). Each scooter has a GPS radio and a cellular modem, so they know where they're at all times. I ...

Re: Bird Scooters Have Landed

So just did a spot check on map and it shows less than 50 again. In this case appears to be about a lot checked out at once in active use as the number of map updates per minute higher than through the week. Makes sense given streetcar ridership also higher on weekends. Will streetcar/scooter compl...

I'm sure you'd be against it when the inevitable ask for public subsidy is revealed.

No. If that ever came to fruition, I'd probably just take a sledgehammer to it myself and avoid the engineering exercise entirely.

Re: Would you like to see the Royals move to a downtown stadium?

-Not a great use of real estate (a stadium would only be filled with people 81 times a year for 3-5 hours, leaving a massive empty stadium for 284 dates). -Generally, downtown & urban core development is strong, save a few obvious exceptions in E. Village, 18th and vine area - not clear that th...

They created this exhibit themselves. If it does well, they'll set it out on tour. Should be a big money maker!

Re: Bird Scooters Have Landed

City council should hear a resolution next week that will set up a temporary structure while they establish a pilot program. No other cities in the region are doing anything, despite at least two (NKC/KCK) having some migrate* inside their borders. *see what I did there? It's entirely possible that ...

Re: Bird Scooters Have Landed

What's with the scooter that seems to be perpetually parked at what looks like maybe a countertop manufacturing facility over in Armourdale? Seems like a bizarre place to be staging one as opposed to, say, Strawberry Hill. Maybe it's someone's house? It also doesn't appear that it got charged overn...
