I find it bizarre that some people think it will save the city money to NOT have a plan... thats crazy.
That's why it's silly season! ;-)

Kansas City is great because of its culture and ingenuity, but it isn’t blowing up compared to outside the Midwest.
This is reflected in our economic data. No time to pump the brakes, like we typically do.

Bike master plan on hold until after the June 18 election:

While the Bike KC Master Plan suggests a funding plan, it does not have any money attached to it.

Can we put a moratorium on these service (no sales tax) businesses snatching up the best quality development spaces.
Same source told me retail on the ground floor (bakery).

I know this isn't the focus but the thought of redesigning our bus system drives home the "rail drives development that bus lines won't" idea.
That's not the focus at all, at least until we have regional funding.

I’ve heard this project could change depending on if adjacent properties are also acquired.
Not shocking. Michael's won't sell, the parcels to the north are probably in play since MoBank sold out.

My understanding is that part of the commercial space will be owner occupied (law firm, but not sure how reliable that info is).

Re: Tracks 215 Project

If I'm not mistaken, parking minimums in the Crossroads were only removed within 2 blocks of Main, so this project would need a variance in order to go less than 1:1 on parking. (And I get that that doesn't necessarily refute what you're saying, but it seems worth pointing out. The minimums no long...

Let me rephrase: We should be seeking a much lower parking ratio than 1:1 within a 5 minute walk of the streetcar line.
And it's a shame the city's incentive process doesn't taking that into consideration at all, which leaves it to the whims of... who exactly?

Re: Next Mayor 2019

Basically the two candidates are nearly identical on their voting records, so it comes down to character and leadership style. Most of us aren't on here saying "Lucas is losing" but one (new-ish) poster is saying "Justus is losing" so we're pretty much all reacting to that fakey Remington push-poll ...

What's up with these short buildings along streetcar.
Alleys and parking?

Doesn't take much height to build density.

But, yeah, you'd think one of the hottest submarkets would drive new construction higher since it's allowed.

Three stories with underground parking. Based on that description, it's very unlikely the buildings would be kept.

Re: Next Mayor 2019

Remington's "races called correctly" score is 67%. The percentage of polls in which the polling firm correctly identified the winner of the race. If the poll indicated a tie for the lead and one of the tied candidates won, the pollster is given credit for half a win. Remington's February primary po...
