i'm a big fan of the $10 lunch menu, which is relatively new. you should give it a shot if the pasta didn't impress. my soup/sandwich combo last week was very good for that price.

another floor of residential has been added, this time above the retail spaces in the attached parking structure facing main street. here's the view of main street from the homes tour (floor to ceiling windows, quite the contrast to the main building): https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DQoUo8aVAAAJ3XI.jpg

how are we feeling about tavernonna and P.S.? i frequent tavernonna, but find P.S. to be a little rough around the edges when there are far better cocktail programs (and service) in greater downtown.

that on-street parking is so irrelevant, it may not even register. most uses have off-street and the curb lanes are bus-only during peak hours. what i hear most about is left turns (currently restricted at that intersection).

Re: Bike Lanes

On that note, the council passed a pretty strong Complete Streets Ordinance yesterday. It sets out some pretty stringent and clear requirements for including pedestrian and bicycle access to our roadways. Combined with an (pending) updated bike plan and the GO bonds, there seems to be some real pro...

Re: We need a new airport!!!

From the articles I read it sounds like there weren't anywhere near enough details about the design or the funding. You don't go forward on a billion dollar deal with a "trust us, it's going to be great". How bad would it look if this all fell apart in 9 months and we had to pay Edgemore ...

Re: We need a new airport!!!

while certainly a disappointment, let's remember that the council still has voter approval to tear down the old terminal(s) and build a new single terminal. today's outcome doesn't change that, it just alters the timeline and the people involved (and makes the council look bad).

Re: The Netherland and Monarch on Main

it's happening!

Buland said he and Salzberg were attracted to the properties in the 3800 block of Main by their location, the timing of the streetcar extension, which is expected to be completed by 2021, and the opportunity to acquire the adjacent properties.

the goal was to make grand the high point and scale down to the east and west. if you built higher there you'd need a lot of structured parking since it's not well served by transit today.

Wasn't sure where to put this one....I guess the Westport is close enough. Anyone know why this building is currently being demoed? This city is getting knocked down faster than it is being built up. https://goo.gl/maps/fodpk8xnQF32 Photo taken this morning... https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4683/241...
