Re: We need a new airport!!!

From the articles I read it sounds like there weren't anywhere near enough details about the design or the funding. You don't go forward on a billion dollar deal with a "trust us, it's going to be great". How bad would it look if this all fell apart in 9 months and we had to pay Edgemore ...

Re: We need a new airport!!!

while certainly a disappointment, let's remember that the council still has voter approval to tear down the old terminal(s) and build a new single terminal. today's outcome doesn't change that, it just alters the timeline and the people involved (and makes the council look bad).

Re: The Netherland and Monarch on Main

it's happening!

Buland said he and Salzberg were attracted to the properties in the 3800 block of Main by their location, the timing of the streetcar extension, which is expected to be completed by 2021, and the opportunity to acquire the adjacent properties.

An office building at NE corner of 47th/Main is going residential, luxury senior living. Would like to see some of the office spaces above Plaza retail also go residential. https://www.bizjournals.com/kansascity/news/2017/12/12/more-details-on-northpoints-planned-luxury-senior.html We will need to ...

We can build stadiums pretty low though

the goal was to make grand the high point and scale down to the east and west. if you built higher there you'd need a lot of structured parking since it's not well served by transit today.

it's also in the zone for the development moratorium. wouldn't you think it would have prevented demolitions?

Wasn't sure where to put this one....I guess the Westport is close enough. Anyone know why this building is currently being demoed? This city is getting knocked down faster than it is being built up. https://goo.gl/maps/fodpk8xnQF32 Photo taken this morning... https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4683/241...

Re: Downtown Buildings with Activity

Had noticed a little bit of activity around the building at 913 Wyandotte. Always hoped a use would be found for it, but according to Parcel Viewer a pre-demo inspection was in October. Fencing has gone up around it. proposed 2-story parking garage. no development application has been filed. rumor ...

pretty sure someone high up there told me three would be announced once they start moving people into two light. two light was not open for the homes tour this weekend -- just the leasing office on main -- so it may be a bit longer.

If the streetcar is a part of our transit system not some sort of novelty (which for some it definitely is just a novelty) then why doesn't the streetcar maintain at least the hours the bus system.does...i get and appreciate running later than the buses. For example holiday hours have the streetcar...

No need to fix the turn lane back up if you eliminate the south plaza jog...

plaza library generates a lot of trips. why eliminate jog now when streetcar construction will disrupt that segment of main/brookside?
