Re: UMKC Conservatory of Music considers move to downtown

It's a recommendation. Depending on the situation, and sitting City Council at any given time, that height recommendation can disappear. If Cerner wanted to build several 40-story towers in the Crossroads at 20th and Grand, 20th and Oak, or Wyandotte and Southwest Boulevard, and bring thousands of ...

Re: Misc Crossroads News

Couple new liquor licenses KobiQ in old czar bar space (pic posted somewhere else on here) and Ron Rico opening next to border brewery in east crossroads. Can't find any real info on either of them. Yeah, that's why I posted the pic of KobiQ... didn't seem to exist online anywhere , which is weird ...

Re: Capping the Loop

Get rid of the cuts, a train only street from Truman to Pershing could be doable. if your focus is streetcar speed and reliability (the only reason to dedicate space to transit), you don't need to remove cars from main street in the crossroads. you need to remove them from truman to 12th. a simpler...

Re: UMKC Conservatory of Music considers move to downtown

Why is this site height limited to only two stories? Its only a block away from the convention hotel, which will be 20+, and the Opus apartments will be 6. Maybe we don't want something towering over the Kauffman Center, but 5-6 stories would be in scale. edit: I guess it is 4 on the south side, bu...

Re: Three Light

cordish doesn't own the garages, so it would not be a good idea to invest garage revenue into their apartment building (unless it was to fund a public parking structure that's part of three light).

Re: Amenities missing from downtown

Somebody talk to me about this City Center Square idea. That was a new one to me, but I'm all ears. that food court is a waste of space and the first floor tenants aren't all that either (although one is the last post office in the loop). CCS already has loading docks, three big entrances on main a...

Re: Midtown McDonald's Rebuild

That McDonalds is a disaster! Computers always broken, drive thru gets stuck and painfully slow. They always needed the new double drive up configuration as the lines back up very often. Not a fan of the design but, it’s a McDonalds. They’re never going to be in Architectural Digest. (No pun intend...

Re: Capping the Loop

Like to share the costs? no. we have no money. that entire project is our northern border and we deserve a voice in the design. I'd agree...seems like they are in the "how much money will this cost to do anything" phase, not the design phase. um, no. they are surely not doing a final desi...
