if they were at CPC yesterday, that means they were in the pipeline before the moratorium.

Re: West 39th Street Apartments

Now all 39th needs is a streetscape do-over. Absolutely! 39th is a mess and needs to be redone all the way from State Line east. i suggest a 2+1 configuration from 71 to state line. this would allow a dedicated, shared center-turn lane and leave one excess lane for either a bike facility or on-stre...

Re: KCMO Downtown Streetcar

I have found the "app" pretty unreliable especially in the past few weeks, but the streetcar schedule has been very regular and frequent which is what really matters to me. there is a known issue with the android "KCityPost" app. iOS works fine. you can always track vehicles her...

from the planning report:

The ground floor is 1,678 square feet. A new nonresidential use is not required to address a lawful, existing parking deficit.

plan revisions are on page 207 of this report: https://data.kcmo.org/Development-Review/City-Plan-Commission-Docket-with-Staff-Reports/yckm-q3pc they reduced the width of the vehicle entries and improved transparency. looks like we're also removing a billboard! https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DMbqO6VW4A...

Re: Misc Crossroads News

On the upcoming PIEA schedule has an abatement request for 1717 Walnut, which is the building just north of the Walnut Terrace project that appears to be getting close to completion. Currently, there weren't any details as to what the plans are for the building. Streetview KCDowntown hmm... that's ...

Re: KCMO Downtown Streetcar

Honestly, if you live right by a streetcar stop WoodDraw you should be using itsab.us. I too live and work near a stop and I always use it to time my arrival to the station. Rarely wait more than a minute, two tops. But I feel you re: stopping at red lights--it's BS that we could easily solve from ...

Re: West 39th Street Apartments

don't fight this project because of aesthetics. if you want better, lobby for design guidelines (which we clearly don't have) or get a meeting with the developer. why give opponents the ammunition when you won't get what you want with internet chatter? taking the long view, things are improving and ...

Re: KCMO Downtown Streetcar

I just missed a streetcar today. Since I have heard people say they can out walk it, I did a little jog to see if i could catch up by the next stop. I wasn't even close. That's part of the problem. I live right on the streetcar. Last time I tried to take it for a planned reason, I walked from the s...

Re: West 39th Street Apartments

I love the comments about congestion. The idea that a single apartment complex would create congestion is absurd. Maybe if everyone in the complex routinely left and arrived at exactly the same time it would create a 2 minute traffic jam. I've lived near much larger complexes and their impacts on t...

Re: KCMO Downtown Streetcar

I outwalk the streetcar on a fairly consistent basis. I've posted about it here multiple times. It's also horribly unreliable. Have a train to catch? You can't depend on any consistency in timing of streetcars. Better to just start walking and maybe you'll time it right. yes, we know. do you use tr...

Re: KCMO Downtown Streetcar

The biggest response that I hear from my suburbanite friends when I talk about how popular the streetcar is, is “Just wait til they start charging for it! No one will ride!”. Please don’t make us urban supporters look stupid by charging. Just don’t even research it. They don't even need to do a pol...

Having to cross SW trafficway was kind of a pain. Maybe just have it all in roanoake next year would be better. Thought it was a little too spread out this year. i consulted with them on that. didn't people park on the trafficway (which is totes legal on the weekend) to calm the traffic a bit? were...

Re: 2019 Mayor/Council Elections

Just out of curiosity, what are the requirements for running for a council seat? Candidates for mayor and City Council positions must be at least 25 years old, qualified City voters, residents of the City for five years and of their district for six months, and have paid City and county taxes for t...

i guess we can rest assured these online petitions never amount to much. people have to show up or communicate directly with elected officials en masse.
