In the same spot where one exists today. If I recall, the number of spaces in the new structure will not be much more than are there today as a surface lot.

Re: KCMO Downtown Streetcar

The Streetcar Authority is exploring using vehicles equipped with ice scrapers or heating the overhead lines, as other cities do, to prevent ice accumulation in the future and keeping the lines functional. http://www.kansascity.com/weather/article201224049.html Yes, Cincy has had the exact same iss...

All day ice shutdown is never a good look. How do other european cities with way more snow/ice make this work? Of course not. This was never presented as a possibility. Keep your streetcars running during the ice event, they said, and you’ll be fine. You buy a thing and have to trust that it works ...

also need to stop allowing garage exits onto main. I don't think we've allowed any new curb cuts on Main since streetcar started operating. The dual flag Marriott was almost open by the time the line opened (and the Main entrance is rarely used, and often closed). All proposals since then have rece...

Re: Fixing p&l traffic backups

A few things: 1) They just changed to credit cards only and the transaction time is slow. 2) One lane in on event nights. 3) Garage access from Baltimore apparently doesn't provide an easy path to Main Street (garage layout is like a "double helix", I'm told... whatever that means). The ci...

The 'bus barn' on the west side of McGee which was originally to be demolished for a second grouping of townhomes is now planned to be renovated into an indoor/outdoor restaurant space with large garage door openings. They've brought on Hufft architects for this co...
