Re: OFFICIAL - Reverb (1800 Walnut)

I guess the piers for this had to be a lot deeper on the east end due to erosion (?) caused by the old Turkey Creek, which used to run down Walnut and is now under the street.

Re: Phase 2 streetcar to UMKC

It would be odd for him to suddenly oppose it when (a) the TDD voters approved it by such a wide margin and (b) his voting record on this extension is 100% supportive. In fact, the only reliable no vote on the current council is Hall and she backed Jolie (but she'll probably still vote on anything s...

The developer is also pitching a "green line" along the railroad tracks that would connect Westside with 18th & Vine. I guess the city owns a lot of right-of-way along the terminal railway. None that the parcel viewer shows. I see that now. I know the city owned land is not contiguous, so it will a...

they have been accelerating effective dates for years. Started to dodge petitions if I recall correctly.
It dodges referendums. They also appropriate a paltry $10K so they can claim there's an expenditure to meet the requirements.

Re: Phase 2 streetcar to UMKC

The downtown TDD and expansion TDD both approved resolutions this week that support the above ordinance. This sets the stage for federal funding (which requires that all legislative approves be in place before funds can be awarded).

Now it's up to the Council...

I didn't realize relocating I-35 was even an idea. Is there more info about it? It's just that: an idea. MoDOT isn't interested, but the only joint statement the Crossroads and Westside ever made (you're welcome) was asking MoDOT to consider realignment rather than investing in the existing viaduct...

Impressive indeed. It's almost like Lucas acknowledged there was more to KC than just throwing money around downtown. Justus just sounded like a robot repeating the same failures of her mentor Sly James. Speaking of which he was on 710 yesterday and his interview went really bad. It's no wonder the...

Based on how she ran her re-election campaign, I'm going to say she'll chair T&I instead. Loar will chair the airport committee, which is horrifying.

Easy to say if you have a coalition on the council to be the bad guy or Schulte quits before his contract is up.

The big main dining room is now just another art gallery space.
Good move. They created one of the most sterile fine dining rooms I've ever experienced. I haven't been back for a sit-down meal since shortly after the opening.
