Re: Old KCPS HQ - 12th & McGee

Would the ballpark fit on this block, merged with the Copaken-owned lot at 12th & Grand?

Re: OFFICIAL - Loews Convention Hotel (formerly Hyatt)

This has turned out much better than I thought it would. I think I even like the shorter tower and massing of it better now. It fits the area better. A 40 story building there would have dwarfed everything in the area and been out of scale and it would probably take up the same footprint with all t...

Their map is once again showing the station at Linwood instead of 31st. Have they changed their mind again?
He used an old map. It's 31st. The article has been corrected.

Thanks for the insight, Dave.
You're welcome. I wish the Star's editorial board sought to understand rather than attack us on the Sunday editorial page.

Re: Misc Crossroads News

Mildred's gave up on FF because people weren't coming in anymore. I'd guess because the food truck corral took all of the focus away from the food places in the nooks and crannies of the hood. Howard's quit staying open in July because of the same issue. Novel said they normal clientele stays away b...

I'd think something curated for the specific month would get better results
That's what this page is for: https://kccrossroads.org/this-first-friday/

It's been there for years under the "First Friday" button on the home page.

Re: Misc Crossroads News

So quite predictably, the food trucks are just moving right outside the festival grounds to the east. So there will still be the same problems with more open streets and less regulation. This is the problem with this nimby bs. These decisions need to me made at higher level and not some neighborhoo...

Re: Misc Crossroads News

I'm not sure I agree that it's up to the crossroads to decide. That's NIMBY stuff that most of us fight against. I think that it would be a shame to lose one of the more unique events we have. But I do think that after what happened, it's fine to take a step back. The crossroads obviously needs mor...

Re: Misc Crossroads News

Is up to Xroads neighborhood to decide what it wants FF to be. We'll be going this weekend. It might help if food trucks that do show up are outside the boundaries, dispersing the crowds further. We had a great neighborhood meeting last week and there were so many businesses and residents fed up wi...

Re: Property Tax Assessments 2019

I mean, for anyone looking for a reduction in their assessment, the bad news is in the next to last paragraph that says that the consensus of experts is that most JaCo properties are undervalued. The pace of implementation may be slowed but the end result is likely going to be a significant tax inc...
