Re: Westport's fate post-P&L

There's a neighborhood meeting about the OPUS development tomorrow (25th) at the Westport Library at 6:30. If you're supportive of the project, come meet up with us there. There's a group of NIMBYs that are trying to kill the project and that would result in a parking lot at Broadway and Westport Rd...

Re: Westport's fate post-P&L

Yes, this was an OHP meeting actually. Please come to the next one, we will be discussing the OPUS development more. I believe the next will be on June 21st. Have you gotten signed up for the streetcar election yet? We're having an OHP signup at Mother Earth Coffee this Sunday from 11-6. events all...

Feel free to drop by and hang out anyway. We had a signup on my porch a couple weeks back and it was fun just hanging out and talking to people.

OHP = Old Hyde Park :). I hear you on projects eating up time, we're just finishing remodeling our kitchen! If you decide to take a break on Sunday, stop over and I'll get you signed up and ready to go.

The "hint" was brought up at our neighborhood assn meeting tonight. I'm pretty sure someone said a parking lot would be better than the OPUS development.

Unfortunately, no. It was in a meeting.

Any thoughts on if that was just a hint to neighborhood "activists" to take it (Opus) or get a parking lot?

It looks like the MGE conversion might not be dead after all. A permit for Site Disturbance was issued last week and I saw workers and a crane there this morning: http://kivaweb.kcmo.org/kivanet/2/project/index.cfm?fa=dspjdtl&project=CR201610977&jur=KCMO I really don't have a knowledge of pe...

Re: KC in TV and Movies

That embodies every evil and uneducated geographical and idiotic stereotype people have about KC. In 2007 KC is playing Boston but the team jersey everyone is wearing just says "Kansas" on it instead of Kansas City. The announcer wears a hick polyester jacket and has a vocal twang...

My wife and I were there a few months ago and we were really impressed with Des Moines. A LOT of construction and a neat downtown, although it felt very different than KC. I loved that their river was actually a part of the city and not just ignored and hidden away. Only thing I didn't like was the ...
