Re: Politics

I know Obama deported a record number of people- but what worries me about Trump is that he actually uses and popularizes the rhetoric normalizing U.S. state sponsored terror against immigrants- and justifies it morally, using Christianity, and that it is simply "enforcing the law". ...lik...

and now we just spent several posts talking about how the ball was dropped while Obama was president and not talking about children being removed from their parents and placed into cages. Way to derail AllThingsKC, you succeeded.

Re: Politics

It's weird how, in a country whose foundational story lionizes dudes who decided that they weren't happy with the laws that applied to them, people nonetheless think "he broke the law" is sufficient cause for any amount of injustice inflicted in response. It's easy when you have no empath...

Re: Clay Chastain coming back with light rail

Ya know, driverless busses sound like a really terrible idea. I've had a few times where passengers would have gotten into a fight if it wasn't for a driver calming things down. Driverless implies automation of movement. There's plenty of driveless transit systems. Two examples are in Vancouver and...

Re: Capping the Loop

I 100% agree with Wyco. Removing the north loop is going to be bad for traffic, the south loop doent meet interstate standards(and badly needs about a billion dollar rebuild) to be renamed I-70, and ignores the fact that they are spending 100s if millions upgrading tge KCK portion of the north loop...

Re: KC in TV and Movies

I've heard "City of X" before when referring to cities named after their state, but I've never really heard it before when referring to KC, probably because we're (mostly) in Missouri. To me, it was written by someone that just assumed KC = Kansas.

I’m sure they are the same residents that just a few years ago wanted to kick out the remaining low income housing on Armour.

Someone moved one of the orange cone things into the bike lane so they could park illegally. I moved it but damn those things are heavy.

Not having the buffer currently sucks, it's very tight because a lot of cars are parking on or over the line. Traffic has realllly slowed down though which is awesome!

Re: Politics

You’re right. I just wonder why someone would make such a stupid decision. Did he think he was so untouchable that this wouldn’t get out? The ego involved would have to be enormous...godlike. It’s almost purposeful self sabotage. So, my apologizes for the question. I thought she said this was a con...
