Re: East Side Development

You just aren’t getting a clear picture, he told them. Same as when he was a kid, he had to move the TV antenna this way and that to get better reception. Then, when he could see his show at last, he’d say, “God bless Bill Cosby!” “Because I liked that show,” he explained, when no one even smiled a...

What a cynical move by Shields. Allows her to pay lip service to affordability while retaliating against mobility lanes. Can we please vote out this mediocrity?

People like Scott Wagner, who questioned Kander's motivations in a statement today. I know I joked about it, but that's actually pretty disgusting. [/quote Wow, link to what Wagner said? “If the reason given was true, it shows once again the importance of mental health in dealing with our veterans....

Re: 2019 Mayor/Council Elections

Some internet commenter is probably already screaming about this being a deep state conspiracy to elect Jolie Justus empress of Kansas City. I’m sure and not surprised. But, we have the choice not to participate in someone else’s pathetic life. People like Scott Wagner, who questioned Kander's moti...

Can we at least take a minute before talking about the political ramifications of an, obviuously, very tough decision by Jason?
Not just a hard decision to drop out but a brave decision to fully disclose why. I wasn't a big fan of how he entered the race but I'm proud of him for how he exited it.

Went last week and ehhh... The pizza I ordered took forever to get to me (Their texting system wasn't working so I had to wait at the counter for 20 minutes while my wife was waiting at our table with her food getting cold) and once it did get it, the pizza was already cold. I think we'll wait 6 mon...

Re: Uptown Shoppes

Keeping parking for the Uptown is vital for that venue. Some performance nights parking spills over into the neighborhood. You might think something dense built up next to Broadway was torn down for the strip mall, but it replaced something actually less dense, an old mansion. I think the stone wal...

Interesting choice of making the parking garage jut out of the front like that, it almost looks like that's supposed to be the back of the building. Totally agree, they need to bring the building to broadway sidewalk and have a storefront there.

The old people love Larry Sells. It’s a match made in hell. I think it’s because he hosts the Westport/Valentine associations and HKC for free at the Uptown.

From what I remember, the Shoppes will be 6-7 stories after the parking decks and apartments are added. That's just 2-3 stories shorter than the Ambassador next door.

I would only ask that others form their own opinions based on interactions with the HKC group itself - rather than the ramblings of an anonymous internet poster. I have ran into HKC many times when I was on my old neighborhood association. They are asshole NIMBYs, every single one I've ran into. Th...
