Are you guys talking about Tacos el Guero, in the corner of wheeling? Or a different place?

I don’t really care what they call it on the marketing lit. It’s infill in what I would call Blenheim. I’ll take it.

Re: Tom Colicchio-involved "Food Hall" to Mission Mall site?

Sounds kind of ambitious for the site and the demos. I’d probably at least check it out. Will it be like that awful Eat-a-ly place in Chicago, a place I feel pretty much sums up what half of Chicago has become.

Re: Black leaders seek to rename Paseo to MLK Blvd

Also, we should stop naming streets after the full names of people. Street names should be one or two words max. If you want to use the full name, fine, just have a Martin Street, Luther Avenue and King Boulevard, rather than one lengthy street name. Co-sign. Full name streets are almost as lame as...

Re: Six Light

this site has a LOOOONNNGG history of hosting some very plugged in people....glad you are joining us now. It also has a long, and I think endearing, history of being a little bitchy, and fairly thick skinned. The pearl-clutching, and oh, dear, what ever would your EMPLOYER! think of you saying “dic...

Did I miss a recent doxing drama?

I was kind of wondering this as well but I figured my asking would lead to re-doxing

People should wear more cowboy hats. It’s basically the climate appropriate headwear for our environment in the summer.

Re: Kansas City's Twin is Nashville says analysis

The barely-influential Civic Council just hired a former Nashville Chamber guy: https://www.bizjournals.com/kansascity/news/2018/05/04/kc-civic-council-president-marc-hill.html The Nashville Chamber was a major voice of support for their transit plan. The Civic Council is a collection of swindling,...

I still think people just can't get past the name. As stupid as that may sound. The name "Kansas" City just comes with too many stereotypes built in that are just extremely difficult to overcome. Oh, bullshit. Denver had an awful reputation as a smoggy, dusty, run-down shithole. Portland ...

Re: Phase 2 streetcar to UMKC

Saw DeJanes on KSHB last night - describing her SmartKC as leading the contingent of Westport businesses against the streetcar because people would have to walk .4 miles from the stop to Westport, but the businesses still have to pay the extra tax. This may be the dumbest argument I have heard in a...

Re: Phase 2 streetcar to UMKC

I don’t know. Seems pretty predictable. Businesses don’t want to pay more taxes...sorry, assessments. Big surprise. I think they’re penny wise and pound foolish, but I also don’t own a bar, or a business, and if I did, I sure as fuck wouldn’t run it like Bill Nigro, who’s about as big a turd as you ...

Yeah, the sign is tacky and lame. I don’t know how anyone would argue otherwise. It also actually seems as or more authentic to me than pretending the pop culture of the past matters to anyone here or that it should.

Re: 50s/Main development

There are some new docs in the KCMO Development tracker for a 5 story, 151 room hotel on about half of the large parking lot NW of 50th and Main. At least, I'm assuming it is a hotel. I don't see that explicitly stated in the docs and I don't see any indication of the flag. Docs: http://maps.kcmo.o...
