Re: Google Maps renames neighborhoods, residents fume

It’s very useful for south of the river neighborhood identification since it marks street boundaries perfectly Yuck. That’s antithetical to the idea of a neighborhood to me. A neighborhood is supposed to be nebulous, malleable, and subject to the whim of an ill-defined, possibly chimerical, popular...

Did you call it a “honky-tube”?

Or just point out that it would make way more sense just to make the fucking street safe enough for children to cross?

Re: Phase 2 streetcar to UMKC

What an Urban Planner from Amsterdam has to say about our system and extension. Good. But the layout of the proposed route is madness. So many lanes of striped asphalt. Utter waste. Why not import some of the world's best practice and do center-running (grassy) transit lanes with floating transit s...

Re: East Side Development

This committee should take their time and do it right. No one wants another Citadel or 18th & Vine Part 1. Between Prospect MAX and Smart City 2.0, there is already a lot of focus on that corridor in the near-term. I’m very excited about Prospect MAX. I know next to nothing about Smart City (1 or 2...

Thanks. I’m abroad and hadn’t seen that article. Not that I would have read something on the editorial page if I was in town. The Star’s new editorial board has taken a turn for the woke that I’m not interested in. Local muck racking and trolling of the Abouhalkah variety I could stomach, laugh at, ...

Re: KCMO Downtown Streetcar

Unpopular Opinion: the grey streetcars are ugly. I really enjoy the lovely colors that the party car has been “painted” with. I wish we would have picked a livelier paibt schene fir our cars I wanted red, but was convinced to support the "timeless" scheme we have now. Put my firmly in the don’t car...

I’ve always been confused: Is it grey or gray?
Both are correct. Grey is more popular in the US, gray in the UK.

Switch spelling or countries and you’d be correct.

Re: Tom Colicchio-involved "Food Hall" to Mission Mall site?

Sounds kind of ambitious for the site and the demos. I’d probably at least check it out. Will it be like that awful Eat-a-ly place in Chicago, a place I feel pretty much sums up what half of Chicago has become.

Re: Black leaders seek to rename Paseo to MLK Blvd

Also, we should stop naming streets after the full names of people. Street names should be one or two words max. If you want to use the full name, fine, just have a Martin Street, Luther Avenue and King Boulevard, rather than one lengthy street name. Co-sign. Full name streets are almost as lame as...
