^This is true, but every time I travel I'm reminded of how spoiled we are here in KC. Waiting in lines is so commonplace in most other cities.
That shit is for kids and suckers. Not that there’s a big difference.

I’ve reached the point in my adulthood where even the names of historic buildings annoy me. Pythias Building? Trump cannot usher in the horrifying and chaotic collapse of this society soon enough for me.
That’s the spirit.

Re: Parlor - 1707 Locust

I can't speak for Lenexa, but I was recently at the two new food halls in New Orleans, Pythian Market and Auction House Market. Parlor is definitely a notch above those trendy spots. Both of those NOLA spots have some equally top-notch food options and Auction House particularly is a really nice sp...

Re: Parlor - 1707 Locust

I've only eat at the Swedish place. So far but 20 bucks for a smaller sausage and fries seems a bit steep. How are the other place prices? Swedish prices for a socially responsible portion of sausage that you can smugly suggest is obviously ideal in a veiled racist way. You know, the full Scandinav...

That’s bullshit. In the renderings I was 200’ tall and looking down on this building, but after the bait and switch I’m just 5’9” and looking upwards at it in every view I see. Kansas City sucks.

They only found out that you could have flavor in foods like 10 yeas ago. Cut them some slack.

Re: Open Spaces - Kansas City Arts Experience

Location, location, location = fail. This city simply cannot get it right. They keep throwing events at Swope Park and nothing is successful. Example: The Ethnic Fest should have 10 times more visitors than it gets. But who wants to park in a field and walk a mile through tall, chigger-infested gra...

Re: UMKC Conservatory of Music considers move to downtown

The City should just give them Theis Park. Don't see how that is a good idea. That is a great park and it is actually well-used. This forum is full of ideas to get rid of parks and make every corner of the city 'dense'. One thing I love about the city (and most visitors notice) is all the great 'op...

Re: UMKC Conservatory of Music considers move to downtown

The City should just give them Theis Park. Give after a citywide vote to remove it from the park system. I would expect that would get a lot of pushback. Yeah, I understand the reality. But it’s probably as likely as any of the rest of this pipe dream about UMKC becoming a big, important urban univ...

Re: Google Maps renames neighborhoods, residents fume

It’s very useful for south of the river neighborhood identification since it marks street boundaries perfectly Yuck. That’s antithetical to the idea of a neighborhood to me. A neighborhood is supposed to be nebulous, malleable, and subject to the whim of an ill-defined, possibly chimerical, popular...

Re: Phase 2 streetcar to UMKC

What an Urban Planner from Amsterdam has to say about our system and extension. Good. But the layout of the proposed route is madness. So many lanes of striped asphalt. Utter waste. Why not import some of the world's best practice and do center-running (grassy) transit lanes with floating transit s...

This committee should take their time and do it right. No one wants another Citadel or 18th & Vine Part 1. Between Prospect MAX and Smart City 2.0, there is already a lot of focus on that corridor in the near-term. I’m very excited about Prospect MAX. I know next to nothing about Smart City (1 or 2...
