Re: Plaza move-ins (ongoing)

Too bad St. John is moving — I feel like it is one of the last truly luxury brands on the Plaza — but glad they will remain in the market. I hope Taubman can fill the space with two brands as unique and upscale as St. John. It’s a primo corner spot by Apple and Tiffany. St. John Knits is moving: htt...

Re: Plaza move-ins (ongoing)

Loving the influx of local stores. So chains I would like to see move in: -Zara -Scotch and Soda -Gant -Lacoste -Ralph Lauren (I know they are struggling a bit but it's a classic, quality brand) I really like your list but I have a feeling that Polo/Ralph Lauren and Lacoste might be out of the mark...

Re: Plaza move-ins (ongoing)

I know some folks in KC who are very acquainted with the new owners and they insist there is a plan to make the plaza more upscale. Nordstrom's fits the plan but not sure if many of the other moves we are hearing about are consistent with the upscaling. I have no doubt the owners are going for upsc...

Re: Plaza move-ins (ongoing)

Visited the Plaza yesterday and heard from a store manager friend that, yes, Nordstrom is taking the Capital Grille block, Capital is moving to the Williams-Sonoma spot and all of Cinemark is going away, not just the theaters on the western side of Jefferson. Tesla might relocate to the Burberry spo...

Re: Plaza move-ins (ongoing)

Anybody been by the Halls conversion project lately? When's the completion date? Just wondering how this project is coming? That's always been a somewhat quiet corner of the Plaza and the project, and if done well, and I don't necessarily have much faith in Highwoods doing it well, could really inf...

Re: Plaza move-ins (ongoing)

I've also heard Apple wants a bigger space. The rendering sure looks like an Apple storefront.

If not Apple, then another huge global brand, in my opinion. The rendering shows an opportunity to have a big logo/signage take up a lot of space on the facade... pricey and highly coveted for retailers.

Re: Plaza move-ins (ongoing)

Unofficial announcement: Kendra Scott is moving in to 414 Nichols Rd. I noticed it on the Kendra Scott website but couldn't find any news about it.

https://www.kendrascott.com/stores/

You'll have to scroll down a little to see the store listing.

Re: Plaza move-ins (ongoing)

Madewell coming to the Country Club Plaza The retailer is taking a 3,313-square-foot space at 309 Nichols Road on the Country Club Plaza for an August opening. Ann Taylor formerly occupied the space. I feel like it was only a matter of time before Madewell moved in. Good move for Highwoods and Made...

Re: Plaza move-ins (ongoing)

Are you basing that on the renderings or conversations with someone at the firm? I wonder if their renderings don't include the arches just for the sake of time (take too long to render those ETR details) I based my statement on the various videos posted on Country Club Plaza's YouTube (Plaza 211 P...

Re: City Target (CityTarget)

I currently live in Minneapolis and I'm just a few blocks away from the country's first TargetExpress store. It's 1/6 the size of a standard Target and the company seems to have found success in them. They're beginning to pop up in large and midsize urban markets across the country Nearby St. Paul, ...

Underwhelming, mostly. But Barton Perreira is actually pretty cool. Ultra luxurious eyewear that's popular with celebrities.. Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus are a couple of the few retailers that carry the brand.

Have a look: http://www.highwoods.com/PropertyDetail.aspx?id=BAA18FE0-5FEE-4A8C-B3D7-7963F7C0A73B I noticed that the small photo in the top left corner of the page has a rendering of the northwest corner of the building that differs fr...

Holiday update: I think Brookstone is returning to the former Brooks Brothers space for a seasonal store again. I saw boxes and products through the window when I was passing by recently. Is this the space where Crabtree & Evelyn was? Either way, Crabtree is now officially out of the KC market.

Re: Plaza move-ins (ongoing)

I think they will attract retailers similar to the fancy highland park village in dallas. http://www.hpvillage.com I think a keihls store would be a great fit for this remodel. Kiehl's Since 1851 would be a great fit. Aside from that, I don't think the Kansas City metro can financially support too ...
