Re: The Phoenix
This place is back and kicking. Being there last weekend was a very good feeling. Glad to have it back. The menu has been simplified and the drink prices seem to be lower.

Re: Music Exchange ( And Now, Recycled Sounds ) Future In Doubt
I was there 30 minutes before things opened up and their was plenty of Jazz albums that would retail at $20 on ebay. Tons of good old funk and R&B. It was pretty picked through in terms of classic rock and what not. If you know your Jazz, old rock-a-billy, and soul their was some amazing find...

Re: Pendleton Heights neighborhood
If anybody is interested my friend is selling his very cool home in the Northeast neighborhood. It has been fully restored and is in great condition, has tons of historical charm, is 98 years old, has a pool, is one block from the Kansas City museum and has plenty of space. See the details below. ...

Their is a new gardening store just west of Dos Hombres called "Green Aches" I believe. Does anybody have any information on this place? An extension of Planters? Separate but related....what is above Restaurant Supply and the building directly south of the RS building. This is prime r...

Re: Status and future of the River Market area??
The key focus in the long term should be to develop the surface parking lots in the area. Their is enough business and residents in the 6 blocks or so that make up the city market to warrant developing those lots. Look at the lot directly west of the market on the north end of 5th and you could ba...

So when is the next tour going to happen? I'm very interested. Or can I have the contact information for the individual to contact myself and inquire. Great information brought to the forefront.

Eljay's looks great inside. I talked with the owner and she was very friendly. And you can buy espresso blend here which makes me happy. An upscale Italian restaurant is slated for the space directly north of Eljay's.

Re: Warehouse to Come down
These buildings with the exception of the recording studio did suck. But it is still very typical of Kansas City to tear something down and then come up with a plan. I'm sorry but a two level local bank from Lawson....get out of here. You know that is going to be employ 10 people and take up a wh...

Re: Grand Slam C-Store
Not to mention that the staff at the Valero at 6th and Wyandotte are some of the rudest white trash ass holes I've ever encountered in the metro. They run that place like its the only gas station in town. On a couple different occasions I have gone in for something and being offended. Their style...

Re: $ for Ganja
To me it is quite obvious. Its a horribly unproductive battle against pot financially. The government could save time, tons of money, and resources and make a mint from the taxation. And this is all considering the pragmatic economic only variable. If you consider the context that it is already ...

Skybox will be playing only salsa and latin music Thursday through Saturday. I talked with one of the cooks at the place, and Hip Hop is done for in the establishment. As much as they like the music, they probably enjoy their business being open more than the tunes. If it does not clean up its act...

Re: Grand Slam C-Store
If this building comes down this would be a tragedy. I wouldn't be surprised if these guys lacked the foresight to do something great with the space. Any serious investor with a vision could take this space, finish out the lease or break it with the liquor store and then convert the space and pitc...

Re: Grand Slam C-Store
So this whole space is going to be a gas station? This is much better than the surface lot where people would just park and shoot the shit. If a respectable gas company comes in they will not allow all the loitering and less people will hang out here at night. I'm all for it. I would have enjoye...
