Re: Freshwater - Midtown

I thought The Drop was staying under the same ownership and just reconcepting. I'm sure there are other spots over there. The kitchen side of Freshwater still looks relatively in-order. So, he has all the equipment. Unfortunately, all of the work he put into the dining room is lost. Would be great i...

Re: WeWork Corrigan Station

I've been interviewing with someone who is taking a small space with WeWorks in August. We took a hard hat tour of the 3rd and 4th floors a few weeks ago. It's a cool concept. The space looks like it will be pretty cool - and it is filling up.

Re: Freshwater - Midtown

So.... this place was completely destroyed by a drunk driver last night. I'm on a phone out of town, or I'd post a link, but it's in the news. So sad.

Ooh, forgot - for JoCo residents this is important! El Fogon Deli Taqueria, 10450 Metcalf. It's great, the quesadillas are awesome, tacos are good. the tortillas are fresh, not 100% sure they make them to order but they tasted like it. Saw several people chowing into huge yummy looking tortas. The ...

What percentage of the eligible or registered voters is that? And how many were you expecting? You don't have to answer. Just curious.

Northeast has the same problem, and then some. Depends on where you are, but I would argue that in general northeast actually fares a bit better. Not much, but you've got little dive bars what bars are still open in Northeast? I think the following are still open, but it's been a while for me... Ka...

Re: Harlem district to E of downtown aiport

It's easily the creepiest neighborhood in the city and I've been in most of them. I think the neighborhood down by the Local Pig is the Creepiest. That area looks like Rich Hill Missouri or Appalachia The East Bottoms is odd, but it has a lot of people that live there. So, it never has that abandon...

Re: Thrillist ranks KC burgers

I like Town Topic more than Winstead's. I do think it may be a bit overpriced, but a Town Topic double cheese w/grilled onions + onion rings is my favorite greasy burger meal. The McCoy's burger with Merck's cheese spread is really good. The Peanut also has a solid burger. I didn't find much special...

Re: GO ROYALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With Adam Eaton out for the year, I don't think the Nats are going to be willing to part with Taylor. I don't disagree with your plan, but I may wait a few weeks to see if 1) the team starts playing better as a whole and 2) our high value trading pieces start producing a bit better. I'm not quite re...

Re: Freshwater - Midtown

I went to a soft opening and stopped in for a few small plates last weekend. I think you nailed the review brewcrew. Good, but not great food (yet). Pricing makes it worth it. Service is very good. I think they will eventually use the back room as a bar. They have a bar there, but it's more of a ser...

Re: HopCat at Westport/Broadway

Yeah - great beer list with great local/regional selections. I thought they did a nice job with the rooftop deck as well. I'll also check out the Tiki bar in the basement at some point. I haven't eaten there - not really planning on it. They seem to be known for their french fries ("Crack Fries...

Re: Would you like to see the Royals move to a downtown stadium?

The photo says Opening Day '55 - A's/Tigers. So, would have to be Municipal Stadium at 22nd and Brooklyn, I would think.

That is some crazy parking. Some of those cars are not going to be able to leave early to beat traffic.

Re: Phase 2 streetcar to UMKC

I tried the form. Seemed to work well. Nice job! I think there will be some trial/error for matching exactly what the election board has on file for an address. You may want to adjust the error message to be a bit more prescriptive and instruct users to re-enter the address exactly as shown due to c...

Re: Phase 2 streetcar to UMKC

At the end of the day, request a ballot and if you're in the district you'll get one and if you're not, you won't. At the end of the day, if someone thinks they live outside the boundry, they're not going to request a ballot. I'm in the sweetspot of your demo. I want this thing. I'm a relatively sa...
