Re: Uptown Theatre district improvements

I ate dinner at Krokstrom a few weeks ago and it was crowded/full. I think it was a Friday night, but still good to see.

The Pork Belly sandwich is awesome.

Re: Misc Crossroads News

Awesome. I was down there in June and we walked the highline and went by this. My 73 yr old Mom is a wimp and wouldn't walk up the eight flight of stairs, so we passed on that. It's really cool though. The Bloomberg building right there peaking into your first shot is interesting as well. Hudson Yar...

Re: Would you like to see the Royals move to a downtown stadium?

I doubt it. At a certain point, all of that money comes out of the economy and benefits the owner. Just because it's not me paying all of it doesn't make it more palatable for me. This guy is going to be making money hand over fist with a new stadium. I'd like to see him invest in it. I'd like to th...

Re: Would you like to see the Royals move to a downtown stadium?

I would support partial public dollars to support this, but I wouldn't vote for anything that requires tax payers to cover more than about 1/3 (approx $300-$400M) of the new stadium.

I have no problem disliking both the Cubs and Cardinals, so I like to think I can adapt and still dislike the Fire quite a bit.

Re: Would you like to see the Royals move to a downtown stadium?

I may be wrong but will the new Royals owner be the poorest of the 30 others? First and foremost, Sherman is clearly worth more than Glass, so that's all that REALLY matters. Everything I've found on the Internet lists Sherman's net worth at $1-$1.5B. I don't think anyone can say for sure because o...

At this point, if you go Steamers, you're just letting Cleveland off the hook and forever tying your franchise to a sex act.

Re: Attention regional businesses

Maybe the folks on the new campus are filling those places. Everyone here at The Legends thinks the urban core is a blighted war zone with no value. Even the young ones.

No cerner employees live in the core?
Obviously, I'm exaggerating, because I live in the urban core. I know one other person in my building that lives in the core. I've only been here a little over a year, but people that live in the core are like a novelty around here.

Re: Attention regional businesses

And they may struggle getting college grads if they continue to target last century exurban office parks for boomers. They might, but I doubt . I couldn't get past the paywall of the article, but it's not like any of the current batch of young Cerner employees lives in the core. Who were they asking?

Cerner gives zero shits about your survey. Nor do most of the people that work here, as far as I can tell.

get out of here with that talk!
In the other Royals thread, he said Springfield or Tulsa - so at least Orlando and OKC have Major League franchises. It's a marked improvement.

Seriously though - no reason to think a move is coming.

He doesn't work with the Indians. He's a minority owner. And he'll divest himself if the Royals deal goes through. He grew up here. The guy is a KC resident who has been a fan of the team since the 70's. He's on the Kauffman Found. Board of Directors. His children and family live here. Tell me again...
