Re: Misc Crossroads News

Pardon the cynicism, lousy winterreise. But c'mon! Dude said it best re: Johnny Kaws, its a lousy local dynasty. For me, Grinders is good food and a good outdoor venue. Comparing it to what Johnny Kaw's is bringing into Westport doesn't make any sense to me, but whatever. At the very least, they're...

Re: The Official Kansas City Weather Thread

KCMO has 6400 miles of city roads to deal with - Overland Park has under 2,000. I can't find OPs cost, but KCMO is between $20-$25M.

My guess is that OP spends more money per road mile than KCMO. But, I'm not sure.

Re: Westport Terrace at Manor Square

Maybe the project is dead, but why speculate just because it hasn't started, yet, and because of some plans for part of the old Beaumont? Is there any tangible proof or just guessing? Kevin Collison responded to Dave's Twitter thread and said the rumor is not true and developers were still pursuing...

The rendering makes it seem like it's just a parking lot that's easier to navigate now that you can enter/exit from both the north and south side.

Re: Westport Terrace at Manor Square

So, I wonder if it was really necessary to close McCoy's. There's no way that place couldn't have been making money. I thought the thinking was that Char Bar was going to have to move into both the McCoys/Foundry space when that project was under construction. Now that project is on hold - has anyth...

Re: Status and future of the River Market area??

A woman posted on the Old Northeast Facebook page that Cascone's has been rented to a new tenant, who will redo the space and serve all-day breakfast, lunch, and plans to apply for a liquor license. Cascone’s Grill closing after decades in the River Market, new concept coming ... His landlord would...

None of this true. Specifically: -You are a layman. Positioning yourself as otherwise insults all of our intelligence -Politicians have absolutely NO requirement or duty to listen to voters -Constituents' views do NOT matter -95% of people do not agree on ANYTHING -Even if they do, gov't officials ...

If they can't get such a minor, "stupid" issue correct.. Then how are you going to be able to trust them to run a city.. To say it more clearly, pulling your support from a candidate over the renaming of a road is stupid. Voting for changing the name of a road is not a sign of incompetence. Politic...

Re: Next Mayor 2019

I am reporting what I am observing. The Paseo is one of those emotional responses where residents feel another slight from City Hall. Everyone is correct about there being more important issues to care about. For some residents, the renaming was the last straw. These neighborhoods have gone decades...

I think it's just the developer's name, right? No clue, really. The should rebrand it the "We don't want to pay 95% of our property tax burden" building. Not as catchy, I know.

What a stupid issue to pivot on. So many issues facing this city and your going to change your vote over the name of a street?
Won't this and the airport be wrapped up together in an "our city's process is broken and corrupt" argument?

Aggieville needs to stay in Manhattan. Can't the dude aspire to providing some options for people who don't want to relive their college glory days every weekend? On a brighter note, a new breakfast-all-day place from Denver, Snooze is coming to Westport at 4140 Broadway. Article says a new buildin...

He also produced and directed that movie. Wonder if he chose KC based on his experiences or connections he had from his Chiefs' days.

As low brow diners go Cascone's has recently been at the bottom of the barrel food wise. Look forward to an upgrade even if just middle=of=pack diner but should probably offer some different items than City Diner. Like focus on potato scrambler type plates or something. Cascone's was better than Ch...

I'm as big a sports guy (not saying that word) as I know, and I vote for the convention center too.

If the ballpark would be 75+% private funding (LOL), I'll have less of an objection.

Regardless, I hope their memorial is better put together than th...
