Re: NHL OR NBA, let the message board decide!!

Coyotes could also go to Seattle. Nobody wants to relocate to KC. Nobody wants to relocate to a place that won't gift them a brand new arena. Sprint Center is over 10 yrs old now - that's not going to be shiny/new enough to lure anyone. Which I'm great with. Was sick of being dangled as a landing p...

Re: Proposed tower on Plaza

Outside of the intersection at Westport Rd/SW Trafficway - and the speeds on the Trafficway, I really don't see any persistent or growing problems. Sure, there's more traffic, but there are exponentially more things to do. It's kind of why we wanted all of this stuff to happen, right?

Re: Proposed tower on Plaza

I would be all for "saving" this church if there were some sort of outcry/communication from the church itself. Do they want to stay? And if they do, how "utilized" is the building? These guys have services on Sunday and Wednesday - how many people attend? Is there any utilization of the building ot...

Re: Westport

Hate to lose McCoy's. I think their food stayed solid for their entire run. The last meal I had there was excellent. Not saying there weren't some bad ones in there too, but overall they seemed to maintain. I think their beer game turned a bit south after their brewer left, but they could still put ...

Re: Are downtown apartment occupancy rapidly trending down?

https://cityscenekc.com/downtown-dazzle-urban-homes-tour-this-saturday/ With the lack of downtown jobs (especially tech type jobs that appeal to younger people) you have to think downtown is reaching that saturation point of those willing to pay more to live downtown AND commute to suburban jobs. I...

I hope Broseph is a family name. Not even close Bromigo... Partners Justin Safier and Travis Lester formed Broseph’s Restaurant Group (BRG) in July of 2010 out a passion and love for the restaurant industry, as well as the belief in a need for more restaurants with outstanding culinary experience p...

Re: Westport

Of course not - I had assumed that my word choice for nearly every word after "gentrified" in that comment would have given away that I don't actually believe it is, but here we are. I got the joke and laughed. I’m old enough to get sarcasm. Jeez, I misread. People aren't very kind on this forum ar...

Re: Misc Crossroads News

Looks like Ruins will be opening with same concept and new menu but the name will change to "Taps on Main". Why do they have to do the generic name. I refuse to go now because of this name. How about Streetcar Taps? KC Taps? Or, Kansas City Streetcar Beer Hall Cafe, Taverne and Occasional Stripper?

How is Blvd Tavern doing? I feel like that place has no buzz, same with the Health Food place right by it Health Food place? I can only assume you mean Town Topic. Or, if you're referring to Cafe Gratitude - they seem to have a pretty dedicated following. Even though it wasn't for me. I haven't bee...

Re: We need a new airport!!!

At LaGuardia, just because you see exposed wires hanging from the ceiling doesn't mean anybody is actually doing any construction Exposed wire at Laguardia just means that portion of the airport is actually wired for electricity. It's more the F1 Grand Prix course they have set up around the place ...

They've been renovating Laguardia since Laguardia was mayor. Has anyone ever been there when it's not under construction?

Re: Thunder

One of the regional Fox Sports stations carries the Thunder on TV on Google Fiber.

It's good to have on considering we don't get too much NBA here otherwise. There are other Fox Regional stations that list NBA quite a bit, but they're always blacked out.

Re: Bike Lanes

I think the word "clear" is a pretty generous term for what they do to the driving lanes.

ETA: Not saying they should be dumping in the bike lanes - it's pretty much like the bike lanes don't exist when it snows. It's wrong.

Re: Plaza move-ins (ongoing)

It's not that it's significant exactly, it's just nice architecture, and seems to be in good condition. Just a shame to lose it. I always balk when someone suggests tearing down perfectly good, decently-maintained buildings. If the church population has dropped too low to maintain it, then why not ...
