Re: Next Mayor 2019

Presenting data isn't starting a fight facts dont care about your feelings. And most people don't give a shit about your "facts". In fact, most of your shit isn't facts. Here's a quick sample from the last few pages... "bought and paid for politicians like Justus are more focused on giving handouts...

I may be whistling past the graveyard, but outside of 11p-3a Fri/Sat nights, it seems fine to me.

Re: Black leaders seek to rename Paseo to MLK Blvd

Are they voting to change MLK back to Paseo or Paseo to MLK? Not sure it would make any difference. Just thought they had already changed the name.

Re: Ward Parkway Shopping Center in here

It seems like so many businesses fail to take advantage of the only popular something for most of the city and advertise to a wider audience. I keep putting off a grocery trip to the Trader Joes there and maybe this pizza restaurant advertising farther away would have got me to visit both. I hear y...

Re: Power and Light District Official Tenant List

For me, it's because The Bristol is one of THE Kansas City restaurants. It has history, a reputation, name recognition and decades of equity built into their brand. They can (and should) better serve their customers by.... better serving their customers. Throwing random words to the end of the rest...

Re: Power and Light District Official Tenant List

This seems...fine? I don't get the outrage of successful restaurant moving to better serve the customers they're seeing. Seems like a good sign that places are adapting to downtown now instead of behind them to just open up. For me, it's because The Bristol is one of THE Kansas City restaurants. It...

Re: Uptown Shoppes

KC used to be more pedestrian-friendly as a whole because that's how society was. I don't get why you get to define the "ideal" - as it seems to ignore a large part of the population. Development isn't going to drive new behavior. Behavior is going to drive new development. As a resident and tax pay...

Re: Uptown Shoppes

Why is pedestrian scale ideal in a city that is not a pedestrian city? Are developers really supposed to say "fuck the people with cars, I'm going to cater to the 73 people that bike to work in KC"? I get you want density like some bigger cities have, but that's not where we live. I think there can ...

Re: Uptown Shoppes

Pedestrian friendly streets, specifically making Broadway as contiguously connected at a pedestrian scale from block to block, which means no surface lots along Broadway sidewalk. There's an opportunity to do this with this site. Understandable that you live in the suburbs and wouldn't prioritize t...

I stand corrected. Not sure what is happening. According to this, DBK has a Liquor License app at 4140-44 Penn. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1YPQfTVEvQcktWOHne6OiRSaxpjQJ_aqU/view According to this Snooze is going in 4140 Penn https://www.feastmagazine.com/the-feed/kansas_city_news/article_c4f86d...

If Phase One is the Vape Shop closing and Papa Murphy's leaving - then yes. Otherwise, it seems to be status quo around there.

No idea if it's final, but thought they were doing 4200 Pennsylvania and Snooze was doing 4140 (the other corner on the west side of the street).

Re: Misc Crossroads News

If it's going to be a liquor store, may as well be a good, local one. I don't usually make it to their location, but I think them, Gomers and Mike's are all solid KCMO liquor stores.

Re: Westport

There are three breakfast places reportedly opening this year in Westport (Denver Biscuit Co., Snooze and The Big Biscuit). I think that speaks to the new apartments/residents and the need for neighborhood oriented places. So, there's a bit of everything going on.

Re: Next Mayor 2019

There were some shots from her website saying Lucas can't be trusted and then reasons why. Pretty pud but could be seen as negative. I stand corrected. Still haven't seen anything in my mailers or broadcast ads, but I suppose that is "going negative" to a certain extent. I still think they're both ...

Re: Next Mayor 2019

I have yet to see any evidence of negative campaigning by the Justus campaign. I have seen whining about negative campaigning from Lucas (4/18 Star Headline - "Lucas claims Justus may be about to launch negative campaign"). But, being "about to" do something - or a union doing something - is NOT the...
