Re: One North Development

In addition to the apartments at the south end of the area, two hotels & conference center are currently under construction across Diamond Parkway from Meirotto Jewelry. Old Chicago Pizza is under construction next to Meirotto's and a new Burger King is under construction at the far east end of ...

Re: New Restaurants/Other Businesses in Northland

Nice to finally see ground being broken for new development along Armour Road, east of I-35. Long time coming.

Re: New Restaurants/Other Businesses in Northland

My understanding is that it will connect to 16th Avenue. A full interchange at 16th / I-35 would really help make it accessible.

Re: New Restaurants/Other Businesses in Northland

Ground is finally being broken for new construction at I-35 & Armour Road. Meirotto's jewelry will be building at the southeast corner with a slated opening in Fall 2017. After the Superfund cleanup project is done where Sutherland's used to be, Burger King will be moving to the east and the inf...

Re: First Watch in Northtown demolished

The building was owned by NT Realty and was demolished due to the roof issues. They are going to eliminate that second row of street parking and build so as to be in line with the other buildings along Armour Road. First Watch is slated to go back in after construction is complete.

Re: KCMO and NKC to ccordinate annexation and deannexation?

Further, the entire roadway easement of 32nd Street from North Oak to Holmes will become part of NKC. Currently, the centerline of 32nd Street is the boundary. With this detachment, all of NE 32nd Street between N Oak Trfy on the west and N Holmes Street on the east will be within the City of North ...

Re: KCMO and NKC to ccordinate annexation and deannexation?

I read the original post incorrectly. It appears the buildings along the north side of 32nd will all become NKC property. I expect this means NKC has reached a deal to acquire the property. The proposed annexation by NKC would only include the vacant properties that are already owned by the City of...

Re: KCMO and NKC to ccordinate annexation and deannexation?

I think NKC is interested in expanding Macken Park into that entire area north of 32nd between Holmes and Oak as part of the redevelopment of the residential area to the south. I wouldn't be surprised to see NKC buying or attempting to buy those developed properties to further that goal.

Re: KCMO and NKC to ccordinate annexation and deannexation?

Thanks for the info. Read the legislation history and was quite interesting. The developed properties on the north side of 32nd Street will remain in Kansas City (military surplus store, car lot, and union hall) thus making the city limit line a little busy there. I imagine that North Kansas City wi...

Re: Birmingham Road in Liberty

Does anyone happen to know what the status of the road easement is? Who owns it? Does it revert to landowners when the road is abandoned?
According to the Clay County GIS map, the roadway is still a public easement.

Re: Birmingham Road in Liberty

I recently bypassed the roadblock and ran on Old Birmingham Road. Shortly after the road curves to the west, it terminates at a gated field. The old roadway easement is just barely visible further west and was dominated by tall grass and weeds. A prominent "No Trespassing" sign was posted ...

Re: Armour / Burlington

No, ADM sold the property to Tnemec for what I heard was a relatively small amount.  Can't remember exactly but I think it was around $2 million.  http://recorder.claycogov.com/ImageCach ... 001991.PDF

Armour / Burlington

The old grain processing building on the west side of the intersection of Armour / Burlington is now history.  Wrecking ball brought the last of it down the past week.  I know the land was purchased by Tnemec with plans for using a portion of the land for expansion and the rest for other development...

Re: Archer Daniels Midland to close NKC flour plant

I've heard rumors of a retail/residential mix offering great views of the downtown skyline.  That monstrosity of a grain elevator that's just east of I-35, north of the Paseo Bridge is really the only view obstruction.  Wouldn't surprise me if NKC tries to get that also for the purpose of demolition...

Re: Archer Daniels Midland to close NKC flour plant

this is just east of I-29/35 and armour, correct? Yes.  It's all of the structures between Burger King and the Interstate.  The City already owns all the vacant land around Burger King as well as the Sutherland's building, which they lease to Sutherland's.  The ADM site should free up a lot of land...

Yes they do.  When it's so indoctrinated though, it doesn't seem weird to the person believing it.

Re: Mormon Temple Announced for Shoal Creek Valley

Posted this in another thread... Did some public records searching.  Looks like the Mormon church owns the land at the southeast corner of I-435 / MO-152.  The highlighted area depicts the land listed as owned by the church.  I'm guessing it will be there. http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q256/Jas...
