Re: Uptown Shoppes

Atticus23: Dumb question: Will this effect TheGYMKC in the back of the building? The middle of the weight room is an open atrium that goes the height of the current building. On the back side of the building down a hill from the street level is a gym. Developers plan to bring the gym up the hill an...

Re: Westport

Did I hear correctly this past week that the Historical Society put ALL of Westport on its list of "endangered buildings" or did I dream that? http://kcrag.com/viewtopic.php?f=51&t=10395&p=582063#p582063 Thank you Fang! I totally agree that this does not prioritize individual buildings that are in ...

Re: Bannister Mall/Cerner

They’re building and going vertical w/ that pavilion thing between the taller buildings. Been kind of cool to watch from my school the past few months. Anyone read and can summarize where the new larger than life subdivision is being developed as per the article in KCBJ? I can’t imagine it’s in the ...

Re: Six Light

I hope every Cordish building proposed has the same argument...so riveting. Any way someone can start a “bitching about Cordish aesthetics” thread, so people can blabber on about it and keep the actual threads regarding the development of these buildings just that?

Re: Westside happenings

I get making a house modern or for today’s living standards, but this poor gray and white thing they’ve created is just an awful mess. It looks like the house in Beetlejuice after the Deetzes move in.

Re: Westside happenings

Re: Linwood Presbyterian Church plan moves forward

I’m sure it’s been mentioned before, but what did they do w/ the old stained glass windows? (Yes, I'm being lazy and not reading the ONE page thread)

Good activity on The Hawthorne Plaza project this morning (tried uploading a pic, but it was too big). This is probably one of my favorite projects in the city at the moment!

Re: On-going downtown development projects

Nick Abnos indicates he hopes to sell the Firestone Building and Romanelli Shops to finance the renovation of his property at 10th and Oak (formerly called the Insurance Building) into a boutique hotel. I'd prefer Abnos just sell all his buildings, and the best thing that could happen to the 10th a...

Re: OFFICIAL - Fairfax Lofts/Hotel Indigo (former Brookfield Building)

The people that restore and do terracotta building work are a dying breed. This is such an awesome art and I wish there were more artisans doing it.
