Re: Affordable Housing

Oh, I agree but it doesn't mean we can't utilize these options more than we do today. Even a 1% change in the numbers on assistance will open up money for people who are waiting.

Re: Bringing Conventions to Kansas City

While best I still can't fathom people traveling for that event. Seems like a local only your of thing. I decided to find out what the turnout would be and found this. Even if it's local only, watch the video. https://twitter.com/espn/status/1121604796266500098?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweete...

Re: Next Mayor 2019

Pay no attention to polling. A bad rainstorm on Election Day could up-end this race. True but Lucas seems to have the energy and momentum. Energy and momentum doesn't matter, it's all about turnout. There's plenty of examples of people not voting because they felt their candidate was going to...

Re: Next Mayor 2019

Remington's "races called correctly" score is 67%. The percentage of polls in which the polling firm correctly identified the winner of the race. If the poll indicated a tie for the lead and one of the tied candidates won, the pollster is given credit for half a win. Remington's February primary po...

Re: Affordable Housing

One problem we can take care of is to get people who can work off the public housing rolls, or at least reduce the numbers. Disability is not necessarily an excuse. It's going to be case by case. There's companies that provide jobs to the disabled and mentally ill to provide them employment. It's no...

Re: New KCMO Master Plan - 2019

I wonder what the average length of time between master plans is in other cities. 20+ years seems way too long. 20 years is dramatically short to actually do something. Our plan today should be what work we expect to have done by 2050. MARC works 30 years out for example. The related issue is city ...

Re: KCMO proposes changes to public engagement process

The city has neighborhood associations on some of it's lists that don't even exist. I don't trust them to know who to notify at all. If something requires public comment it should be 30 days before. Not everything should require a notice for public content, we let people give input on too many thing...

Re: Kansas, Missouri battle over companies

I was thinking that the companies, and CEOs, are operating in California, and just not happy about it relative to other states. It doesn't mean they are going to pull out of California though because that might be one of their primary markets. It happens at some levels. My employer moved their nati...

Didnt Reed lie about having a degree? I'd hide from his endorsement. He walked at the graduation. Reed legitimately thought that he had earned the degree(and IIRC he pretty much had minus 1 class) Ha! No, he knew. There's no way he couldn't know. He's about my age and in college students were told ...

Burlington work is supposed to begin next year. I'm 95% certain they're removing a lane of parking for biking. Hopefully it's the parking on the northbound side, though it'd be great if all the on-Burlington parking went away. Yes, NB. It will come with bus stop improvements too as I recall.
