Re: Troost developments

The way to get them to sell is exactly what you would think.

Need their taxes to go up so much it's not economic to hold onto them. The last downtown holdouts will get pushed by this.

Re: KC construction company playing both sides of the state line

The foundation level looks different. I bet it will be a teardown. If this is a complete tear down and new build, it should be larger. With this small a lot you have the standard issue of the taller you go the more of a floor is given up to elevators and utilities. probably hit a practical sweet spo...

Re: Is the term midwest to broad?

I have been in every county in the state, most in some detail, so I've seen what's around. Remember that people tended to move across the country largely from east to west for the same farming climate, going around the major mountains. The lead belt will have more of a middle states feel back to the...

Iconic doesn't have to mean tall.

A really cool metal truss structure underneath could look nice.

Anything except a boring Lewis and Clark viaduct style would be fine

I like the idea of articulated, but in this case adding service so people wait less is the clear winning idea.

About the only thing I'll give credit to Scientology is they like their old fancy buildings.

As interim owners until they implode, they do keep their buildings well maintained.

As long as we can agree that a hot dog is not a sandwich. There's no need to agree on something where both claims are true. Just like with this definition. A hot dog is fundamentally a type of sausage since it's a ground meat in an edible casing. BUT the name is normally used to describe a hot dog ...

My job hires high tech workers. On the local group level we don’t always care about the degree as much as ability. We’ve interviewed people with liberal arts degrees and technical training before. One of our best workers started his associates while employed with us. I imagine Amazon hiring 50k work...

And being right, it’s a bad article because it’s really easy to spin as government against one individual.

remember, the federal government has been 100% in the right on issues of land rights and still come out behind

Every department store on the plaza has closed over time.

The parking garage is key to the project as I recall.

It was supposed to sustain a truck bomb, it's a federal building after all.

This obsession with DeJanes does seem a bit unhealthy. She's becoming a scooby doo villain with a bunch of fake detectives here. "And we would have gotten away with it, if not for that rotten DeJanes!" There's been a lawsuit filed and I'm sure maybe a few of you have tried to get local jo...
