Re: Harlem district to E of downtown aiport

It's easily the creepiest neighborhood in the city and I've been in most of them. Often forget about this hidden dilapidated ghost town. We biked through here recently and were fascinated. Something to check out on bike when up for an adventurous journey of industrial grit. Seems like the only place...

How to ensure the decline of all your businesses is to be the only person that can keep a place running well. After 8 years the entire cook staff should be able to keep a place going and there's a solid manager handling front of house. What happens to The Belfry if the she ends up in the hospital fo...

Re: Phase 2 streetcar to UMKC

If you want to see what a Gerrymandered TDD would look like, pull up the city of Higginsville in google maps. They follow along the street so as to include a specific property they want to tax at I-70, and by avoiding farms, they reduce the number of voters that can turn down the expansion. If the p...

Re: OFFICIAL - Fairfax Lofts/Hotel Indigo (former Brookfield Building)

I have to imagine that cleaning up most of our old beauties over the last few decades did wonderful things for the perception of and confidence in downtown. I don't think we have to imagine, that's clearly important. HGTV shows us that there's a large number of people that care about aesthetics. Th...

Lack of up enough public meetings for feedback. The plan was made without taking emotion and history into account. It was purely technical without identifying how critically importance convenience is, by the time that was clear it was trying to finish the process and go to a vote, not rethink its en...

The bill status says it hasn't been sent to the governor yet

A lot of house bills are stuck at the same point.

Re: Do you have or plan to get Google Fiber?

We moved, our neighbor has service. They claim they don't know how to do the install to our house. How hard is it to do what they did for our neighbor? The thought that this is hard boggles the mind. Signed up in August with a deadline of February. We're nine months for them to figure this out. Mean...

I don't disagree with some threshold on principle.
In practice, we don't live in a dictatorship and voting isn't mandatory.

Take a wild guess why it became street running. If you guessed parking lot access, you guessed right.

Re: KCMO Downtown Streetcar

Yep, the tolerances on time are so insanely tight. A single block without delays should take 7.5 seconds to clear. Just a 1 second reduction in delay for every block increases speed by an entire minute round trip. 15% improvements are legitimately very hard. That it's such a hard problem to make the...

It's only really good at identifying if a specific burger is worth buying from someone I suppose knows food and not how a place ranks.
To do that he would need someone to buy a selection blind and let him rank the burgers without knowing where they come from.

I thought about door opening, like could it be case by case where Saturday they open automatically I've decided there's one reason to not auto open and that's weather.

If it's raining heavily or above/below a certain temperature you don't auto open, otherwise it should be a standard procedure.

Westport feels a lot like a small town downtown where some older buildings are mixed with mid century properties. Go to downtown Sedalia, Smithville, Clinton, Liberty, Parkville and that's what Westport is. Meanwhile places like Liberty and Sedalia and Parkville have put a lot of money into walkabil...

I'll be surprised if Sears Holdings survives 2017. I kind of want to buy the stock. Even though the store is going to die, they still have some juicy real estate that they own and might attract a buyer You would be a fool to. They've been selling their land ownership off for years to a separate com...

If you read that, and it's confusing, it doesn't have rail to KCI or Cerner, that's bus route extensions from the central northland and the zoo. Not one place in the ballot language does it describe the rail or bus sections alone, but the combined multi-mode routes. That's actually not the worst thi...

It would not be the worst thing. His plans have got much better in recent years. They are much closer to what we need than even the 2016 plan of his. It proposes turning Main into train only as much as possible and do the same on other corridors with dedicated lanes. He's not wrong on this as we hav...
