Re: OFFICIAL - 21c Museum Hotel KC (former Savoy Hotel)

The food was good, but no where near the fine dining feel. Fish and chips. Hangar steak. Burger. Pretty typical hotel bar food. They missed on opportunity to put a great restaurant in there. The old place used to be a great restaurant inside bad hotel. Now, it’s a nice hotel with a lobby bar. Defin...

Re: Church of the Resurrection Downtown Campus

I’m actually glad it’s spartan. So many churches seem to be about “look how rich we are!” I guess my point was if you're going to make it look like an office building, make it a nice modern office building. And if you are right on the nose with your comment. Just look at their main campus. Yeah, th...

All of them have disappeared to the west side of downtown. :D I love these things and hope they're successful. It's going to take a few years for infrastructure to catch up. Two hours later there’s a total of seven available One is way up off NW 68th Three in downtown NKC One in the river market Tw...

Made an effort to visit the site yesterday. It's already a substantial building at a fraction the final height.

They've been doing a lot of concrete work on the Children's Mercy project, probably the elevator shaft and what looks like a new entrance on the NW corner. There's a building coming down at 22nd and Charlotte and there's a second University Health building planned for the site. https://www.bizjourna...

Re: Misc Crossroads News

I just realized I was wrong about something on Oak that's a key detail and it explains a lot. US 71 to downtown didn't exist in 1997, it wasn't finished as a road until 2001, so it wasn't that long ago that Oak would have been used for inbound traffic from the south. Get off 71 at US 56, turn north...

Re: Would you like to see the Royals move to a downtown stadium?

Put the stadium at a spot like SW corner Indep Ave and Paseo or south of 18th and Vine. Near to downtown but not on top of it. Both spots won't break the long distance grid, all streets involved end near to the point they would be cut and the areas are prime redevelopment spots. Include in the exact...

Re: e-Scooter Share

It's all about being nice to other people at this point. The definition of a bicycle actually excludes scooters in 70-1 The rest of code uses the word scooter as being something with a saddle (seat) So as a result it's up to you on where to ride. The sidewalk is fine and so is the street just like h...
