This also connects to the history of the Trinity Lutheran site to the south of the photo just above this post. Trinity hospital has had the helping hand of Hawkinson, durable realtor, on many occasions. He traded the lots now occupied by the Bruce Dodson insurance building on Liberty Memorial hill, ...

Re: Phase 2 streetcar to UMKC

She burned bridges by helping kill the vote in 2014. that would have directed money for Prospect MAX. I doubt the ATA has any love for her and any interest to play ball to her favor. I would be surprised if her opinion at all the regional transit agencies isn't ruined. She should be treated as a non...

One of your new housing plans is more than ten years old. The permits are from 2006.
It got stuck in the current unfinished state.

Re: Two Light - 14th & Grand

So what is the extent of the capping that we are talking about here? Ideally, I'd like to see it from Bartle Hall all the way east to include the block just south of the Sprint Center. That is a wide swath and I doubt if Cordish would have much interest in the entire area. The block south of the Sp...

Basically the city can use this to "Show-Me Institute" the voting population that being "Citizens for Responsible Government" is costing the city high value jobs and that "Smart KC" development is anything but.

I don't think, at this point, with the square footage pricing they are getting for those graves that we can expect top level materials. We will see what happens when the market drives up the price. I actually heard they are giving first 2 decades rent for free. Must not be enough people dieing thes...

Kaw Township is a subdivision of Jackson County dating back to 1827.

Re: Streetcar to the riverfront

This network idea of having the train cover the key destinations rather than trying to be for everyone can help explain why we've been doing transit elections wrong. It's all about working with the existing network. The city understands this WAY better than Chastain but no one really gets this. The ...

Re: Amazon searching for second HQ

By coming to KC or any other medium sized Midwest city would help to bridge the distrust people may have with big coastal tech companies and allow them better access to the midwestern and rural markets they are interested in. I like this idea. Sell Kansas City as being an urban center with "sm...

Re: Streetcar to the riverfront

The twenty percent that would utilize 80% of the rides would most likely be those that both live and work along the suggested route not necessarily. The idea is to encourage active use. Someone that bikes half a mile on each end is still a customer. The goal is to build a network to where we don’t ...
There will never be a streetcar that can cover the vastness of the void we live in.
We obviously can’t cover it all, so I think the goal should be to cover the top 20 general area destinations with high capacity transit. This should be a mix of streetcar, commuter rai...

Re: KCMO Downtown Streetcar

My point is if it was clear, streetcar would have rushed out the proof like they did before. Their silence indicates to me blame is debatable (probably by the insurance honks) You’re probably right that it isn’t clear enough to make a claim. Clearly it’s better to move on, fix the train and be done...

Re: Phase 2 streetcar to UMKC

I found permits listed for both of the encroaching driveways, the encroaching home addition, and at least two of the encroaching garages/outbuildings. So who approved them? Doesn't make them the least bit legal. Just makes it that much more of an "Egg on your face" moment for the city. Th...

Thinking positive, if KC was to ever gain a team, it would be a lot easier as part of a bigger expansion into multiple cities.
