Re: Generic ongoing KCATA thread

Bus stop improvement idea at the Sheraton Crown Center on McGee it's 5 lanes wide today. There's two lanes each direction and a center turn lane/left turn lane. Both outside lanes are marked no parking zones people completely ignore. Move the bus stop to be right out front of the north end of Sherat...

Kimpton is a great addition to the city because they are one of the few hotel brands that openly welcome pets for free
I did not know that. That's a huge deal. It's going to draw a lot of people to the plaza.

Re: Next Mayor 2019

The establishment spent a lot of money getting Lucas elected even outside the campaign. All those texts from known national political operatives was very expensive.

I bet the for Lucas campaign was far more expensive.

Re: OFFICIAL - East Village

As a serious reply, there’s plenty of bus routes that let people bypass the immediate neighborhoods to the west There’s not much to walk to in a general sense And given all the housing in the area absolutely is low income with public services for the needy, calling it a zone of compassion isn’t the ...

One thing we learned, polls can show the winner and still be completely wrong.

58-41 was a decisive win for Lucas and was wider than any poll showed. It validates again that turnout matters.

Because that is the law? Yeah, but the school district has a small fraction of the number of students that it used to, they have more buildings than they can occupy and haven’t really proven to be efficient with the money they have. That is the basis for my “why?” It seems the payments to the distr...

Re: New Restaurants/Other Businesses in Northland

If I was a young person new to the city Northtowne would be the place I would live. It's close to downtown, easy access to Kansas and there is tons of walkability No E. It's just Northtown. It actually has pretty bad access to Kansas compared to downtown. At least for places people tend to go to. B...

There has been some sort of construction/remediation/demo crew in and out of this building for at least the last few days. Is working finally starting to begin?
There's been an elevator construction permit since early May.

Sorry, I just have a personal hatred of the show. I find myself screaming at the tv when they say hardwood floors can’t be restored just because of one spot in one room. Then they put back click together floating floor. They do a terrible job of repurposing anything and history means nothing. And f...

In the 6/10 PortKC development meeting, there is a line item for increasing the funding for the Riverfront Extension. Here is the agenda . There are no other details there I can find - so I don't know how much or what is being funded by this proposed increase. KCDowntown Anyone go? They gave info o...

Re: Troost developments

“Good bones”- Lets take an old house, completely tear it down except for saving the front door, put it on a new building and call it a restoration. Think of how many structures the city has just torn down. If instead they had sold it and someone who would have put a new building on the existing fou...

Missouri doesn't allow commercial uses on (or above) their property, or at least that's what the city and consultants (HNTB) found... Oh, we're a cult now. Nice! #StatusElevated Since we're a cult now does that mean we can use the scientology building? They're a large corporation only interested in getting large tax breaks through legal loopholes and making government do what's best for only them. Doesn't seem like a good fit.

I love the idea of kcrag being a representative rule of anything too. Like we make public policy for the city. You'd have a better chance of feral kittens than this group agreeing on a group leader.
