Re: OFFICIAL - City Bank Building (Church of Scientology)

About the only thing I'll give credit to Scientology is they like their old fancy buildings.

As long as we can agree that a hot dog is not a sandwich. There's no need to agree on something where both claims are true. Just like with this definition. A hot dog is fundamentally a type of sausage since it's a ground meat in an edible casing. BUT the name is normally used to describe a hot dog ...

Re: Sprint sale rumors again

My job hires high tech workers. On the local group level we don’t always care about the degree as much as ability. We’ve interviewed people with liberal arts degrees and technical training before. One of our best workers started his associates while employed with us. I imagine Amazon hiring 50k work...

And being right, it’s a bad article because it’s really easy to spin as government against one individual.

remember, the federal government has been 100% in the right on issues of land rights and still come out behind

I would say that within 5 miles of downtown. That puts you within the pre 1950s employment centers.

Every department store on the plaza has closed over time.

Halls was the most recent.

Nordstrom Rack would be a great fit for the plaza

The parking garage is key to the project as I recall.

It was supposed to sustain a truck bomb, it's a federal building after all.

This obsession with DeJanes does seem a bit unhealthy. She's becoming a scooby doo villain with a bunch of fake detectives here. "And we would have gotten away with it, if not for that rotten DeJanes!" There's been a lawsuit filed and I'm sure maybe a few of you have tried to get local jo...

Re: We need a new airport!!!

Someone floated the idea of a regional office controlled airport authority. I think this is actually a great idea. Absolutely a great idea. KC residents are only a subset of airport uses perhaps not even a plurality. I think I saw 45% MO metro, 50% KS metro, 5% from outside the metro. So KC is a su...

Re: Should Jackson Co. relocate the Correctional Facility?

I could see value in a facility which has more of an "outpatient" mentality as an option.

We need to put focus on reducing recidivism in the prison system. And a new prison facility could allow the current facility to be renovated and used for this purpose.

She burned bridges by helping kill the vote in 2014. that would have directed money for Prospect MAX. I doubt the ATA has any love for her and any interest to play ball to her favor. I would be surprised if her opinion at all the regional transit agencies isn't ruined. She should be treated as a non...
