Re: Average joe restaurants...any?

Not really new or old restaurants. I think i'm kind of looking for a restaurant like the Howard Johnsons were back in the 60's

Re: New Food & Drink

Tried Tannin's the other day, it might be considered new. The menu was reworked by Justus. The new chef spent time up at the drugstore as his sous chef. Worth a try.

Re: Average joe restaurants...any?

Haven't been to Niecie's in that location, the one on 63rd closed. Not really a fan of the burger unless it's ground in house. Any good southern diners in the area? Like something you would find in OK, TX or GA. I haven't been to Portia's or Dagwoods in a awhile. Looking for places like waid's, the ...

Re: streetcar tracks vs motorcycle

just a simple observation. it's not the tracks it's the pavement. Is it a defect? Should be something to consider if the expansion ever takes off.

Average joe restaurants...any?

Looking for bare bones, average, but solid place that does it right. Not into the "craft" scene. I'm getting too old for experiments. I make to the city on weekends every now and then but I always spend most of the time driving around and heading back home (same old, same old). Seems like ...

Re: The Standard Pour

It's going to take time, most of the waiters have only work at places that were fast casual so ringing in tickets with course lines is new to them. They will sit on the ticket and ring it in right before they want it. They are dumbfounded as to why it takes times to cook stuff. The sign is awesome! ...

Re: The Standard Pour

Friday night was a really off night for us we were hit with a lot of walk ins...starting opentables in a few days. Made the second wave of menu changes on Monday. our $5 snack menu is working good for the bar. Brought in maybe 10 more wines to add to the list. I have no control over the beers, sorry...

Re: The Standard Pour

I'm sorry your food came out that way, we are making many changes with the systems in place. We are trying to shake the sports bar theme and lean more towards a true gastropub. This menu was a first test to see where the market for the area is at. Next week I'm reworking the wine list to make it mor...

Re: Old Bar Natasha spot - (now "Affare")

Cut them a break, that shit show of construction is hurting a lot of businesses. The city needs to come off the reserve of cash they have left over from it and compensate the businesses affected.

Applebees is expensive for what you get, it's all in how you define expensive, Paying the price for chief's tickets is expensive for what you get in return even though it's cheap by NFL standards. Mano is like a brother to me, I respect him more than another chef in Kansas City second would be Martin from Affare. He has greatly enriched my life by me just knowing him. if you look up "Mensch" it would show a picture of Mano.
